Honestly i wouldnt expect much out of ManUnited the first half of the season. Back at Bayern he had pretty big problems and very little success at the beginning and wasnt too far away from getting fired. Als he is not really known to adjust well to the club or beeing very "diplomatic".
He will need time especially with a roster that doesnt really fit his favorite playstyle atm.

Also on a side note i how about topic weeks about the leagues? With previews and power ranks and shit we can blame everyone having no idea what we are talking about.

Source? Every paper says they are just on the talking phase.

Well you know he is going to be our new manager, Aysal wouldnt've reported it if it wasnt done deal.

Then you have a fantastic manager although he'll be fired after 1 or 2 years anyway.

2 years is very good for a manager in Turkish League T.T

Agreed, I think LvG is going to face some harsh criticism after barely making the top half of the table over the winter. Depends on whether he can keep the players in line whether he's going to do well at all, which might be difficult with some of the bigger names...

I'm actually a bit optimistic about what LvG can do. He'll definitely get a bunch of new players (already has a few) which could do well and the transfer window will still be open for a long while.

Considering BPL has a severe lack of solid tactics in the teams, I'd say given that he's pretty good at developing a system in which a team could compete, I think he'll do pretty well.

I assume you're calling it the British Premier League when you say BPL. I guess it doesn't really matter if it is BPL or EPL, it’s just a naming convention. But Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have their own football league systems so I think it is correct to call it the EPL even though Cardiff City, Newport Town, Wrexham and Swansea City play in the English League system.

It’s definitely wrong to say Swansea are from England but they do play in the English Premier League.

I'm excited to see what Louis van Gaal can do. Maybe I was a bit to quick to say in my earlier post I expect Man United to be challenging for the Champions League places, maybe that is to much. But we'll find out soon enough.

3-5-2 would never work in the premier league. Wigan played it before and i think Hull did for a spell in the season. You just can't compete with that in the English game.
Even in European competion Juventus played 3-5-2 last champions league with a decent squad which got beaten by Galatasaray and drew with the likes of FC Copenhagen. I have never been a fan of 3-5-2 so the only tactics he could bring to change Yanited is 4-3-3 but im sure thats what Fergie played?

I disagree. I think the 3-4-2-1 that Bayern played in the Pokalfinale against Dortmund would straigt murder BPL. In my opinion there are 2 major offensive playertypes in PL, fast small guys for vertical play like Hazard, Agüro or Walcott or big physical ones like Rooney, Giroud or Drogba(yea i know but in my opinion he is the role model for a PL striker).
Against both types the 3/5 back tactic works really well if you have the right personel. And thats were you are right that it wouldnt work for most teams because you need a. a very good anticipation goalkeeper (i see only de gea there) b. a central back with very good ball skills (there is just no Javi Martinez or Mats Hummels in England, at least as far as i know) and c. a very "smart" defensive midfielder were English defensive midfielders tend to be "tackle good the rest doesnt matter". I can see Yaya doing the job but again there is no Phillipp Lahm or Busqets in England right now.

On Van Gaal i am relly curius to see what he wants to do with ManU. I dont see his typical 4-3-3 that he preferes because there are lik 6 players missing that can make this work. With the current roster he could play 4-1-2-1-2 in a diamond shape with Rooney on the 10. That what he wanted to do with Bayern befere they bought Robben from Real.

LvG's system is 4-3-3 (aka Dutch total football style). He's only using 5-3-2 (or 3-5-2) in this world cup because he rightfully believes our defense sucks/is inexperienced.

And there's obviously big variations in 4-3-3 systems as well.

3-5-2 is easily countered you just push your full backs up to keep the wingbacks of the 3-5-2 back and then you see little to no offense or BIG gaps for countering.
Costa Rica did it to Italy i think and some other team had it done and the English commentators pointed it out and it made sense. Might of even been Costa Rica vs Uruguay actually.

It's 5-3-2, we're playig with 5 defenders. He calls it 3-5-2 only to make it look more offensive. He's never gonna play 5-3-2 with United anyway it's not jis style like Twisted said.

edit: we switch to 4-3-3 in the second half most of the time so that's where your confusion might come from that it's 3-4-3

But we don't play 3-5-2 at all. I know the purpose is to play 3-5-2 offensively but in effect it's a very defensive system and that's how we're using it. All the tjme we played well except the 2nd half vs Spain was in a 4-3-3 formation.
