Guessing this will be the ideal starting XI on opening day for Yanited with LVG's philosophy/style.
-------------------De Gea---------------- ----Evans---Vermaelen---Jones--- Shaw-----------------------------Rafael ----------Herrera----Carrick----------- --------------------Mata------------------- ---------van Persie---Rooney--------
I think Valencia would also work just as well as Rafael at RWB (he didn't do too bad when they put him at RB due to injuries). Really unsure who should partner Herrera in the middle though. Mata/RvP/Rooney are all obviously interchangeable with Kagawa/Welbeck etc with the talent they have at those positions. Players like Young and Nani look to be obsolete in the new system.

Leverkusen sign Hakan Calhanoglu
I don't know how I feel about this. He's quite a talented player, and the team need a player with his skills, but he hasn't been very professional at HSV. He signed a long-term contract in the spring and then forced this move to Leverkusen even though HSV didn't get relegated.
What's to stop him from doing that to Leverkusen when/if Bayern or some PL club come calling?

If that's the formation then there needs to be at least 2 more defensive signings as it would leave Smalling as the single replacement for 3 CB positions. I've no idea what kind of player Herrera is but I hope he's the energetic kind who'll run around and make up for the ground Carrick can't cover.

Manchester United rumoured to sign Sporting's defensive midfielder William Carvalho. I'd like to see lu like this:
-------------------De Gea--------------- ----Evans---Vermaelen---Jones--- Shaw-------------Carvalho(maybe Strootman)--------------Rafael ----------Herrera----new transfer----------- -------------------Rooney-------------------- -----------------van Persie---------

Van Gaal is all about youth division and giving youth players a chance. It would actually surprise me if what's thrown around in the media (that he wants to buy like 500 players) is true. I guess he understands that Man U board demands results straight away instead of developing something over a few seasons with the risk of not really getting results the first year.
Ajax' 92-96 team was almost all youth division players. At Barcelona he also used the youth division vehemently. Iniesta/Xavi made their debut under him iirc. At Bayern.. well.. biggest example would be Müller.
And I'm pretty sure he's not gonna use 5-3-2 but 4-3-3 so I'd say, if you want to speculate on first team line-up, use a 4-3-3 formation.

I dont know how Rooney will fit in 4-3-3.
He has to play mf i think?

Van Gaal will turn him into a 10 and let him fight for the position with Mata, or just put Mata on the flanks I guess.

You're right but to bw honest there was little choice with the Ajax team. That was one of our best generations of football players ever and almost all of them played at Ajax. It's a miracle that we never won a euro or wc with them.

Impressive to say the least!

Real Madrid midfield is going to be insane. Xabi Alonso,Modric, Kroos, Di Maria, etc. And Barcelona midfield is much worse now ( xavi is old, thiago and Cesc out, etc ) . I would have never thought about that situation a years ago.

don't forget illaremendi and isco too. i think di maria will depart if james comes in, and morata will probably leave for first team football.

Illarramendi and Di Maria are leaving like 90% sure, Isco maybe too.

Isco would fit very well at Barça, no clue why he didn't go there.

Di Maria is way too good to be on the bench.
PS. Unless Anderlecht are going to match something along the lines of a Serge Aurier offer of around $5million, I don't see Yedlin leaving in this window. Not with Seattle contending for the treble.

As the tweet said, he's been offered to them. So either he wants to move to Europe or the team want to sell him

Saw his oportunity, and took it?
He has a shitton of pics wearing the Barça shirt prior to signing for Madrid.

Isn't van Gaal a 4-3-3 man primarily? Do you think he'll take the 5-3-2def/3-5-2att to Man United? I can see it working, but it could take some time to get it right.
