Apparently FC Bayern chairman Rummenige tried (in some kind of meeting of all the clubs managers) to postpone the first Bundesliga matchday by one week to allow wc-participants enough holidays without missing all the preparation. His proposition was dismissed because his competitors see a world cup year as the only chance to compete with Bayern.
What do you think about this? Should the biggest teams have rosters broad enough to allow their internationals some rest during the first weeks? Is the schedule in european football to harsh on teams? Is there any debate in other countries about it?
Its quite understandable thaht Bayern is upset about that because they have by far the most minutes.
On the statement i think it wasnt 100% serius but there is a tendency that clubs like to whine more about Bayern then acutally doing something, especially some Dortmund guys.
In the end it will not matter. Germany has less games and a winter break. For Bayern it will matter even less, they will win just through sheer roster depth and because in my opinion Dortmund hasnt improved this offseason this far.
Also some sad news, im sure everyone has read about the plane that was shot down over Ukraine. Well 2 football fans where killed in that plane and they were pretty hardcore Newcastle fans who a re known by most of the hardcore supporters who go every week. They were on they way to see them play friendlies in New Zealand just to sum up their passion. Not only did they follow Newcastle first team home and away they also went to Youth and Reserve games regularly and everyone knows them.

Arsene Wenger will speak to Jack Wilshere before passing judgement on his midfielder's latest smoking incident.
Wilshere was pictured holding a cigar during a post-World Cup holiday in Las Vegas, while another photo showed a friend holding a cigarette to the England star's lips.
Wenger reprimanded Wilshere for smoking last season, but the Arsenal manager stopped short of condemning the player again in the aftermath of his side's first pre-season game.
"I haven't spoken to him so it's very difficult for me to make any statement," Wenger said after a 2-0 win at Boreham Wood.
"I know what you can make of pictures, so I have to speak to him to see what really happened before I come out publicly.
"I'm not deeply concerned, I just want to know what happened and before I know what happened I don't want to talk too much about it."

£14million for Borini should be a joke, a very bad one. Also Lukaku returns Chelsea to fight fight for a first team place. Guess transfer season is really over for Chelsea. I was eagerly waiting for Mou to sign Modric ;_;
Liverpool have shitton of money but none of the top players wants to play for them
They are running 11months nonstop and then they "only" get (max) 4 weeks holiday? too short. I think a season should from aug to may. If WC or EC appears then season from sept-may.
So far it seems Seattle is trying to earn fellow american Brad Friedel the starting gig by shooting straight at him over and over to improve his stats haha.
