I wonder if what Prust said about Referee Brad Watson is true. If you haven't seen his post game interview go watch it. Its not the usual bitch about the ref type interview.

I disagree with Prust though. He contacted the goalie, that's a penalty and its not a weak call. But the after part....wow

I can't imagine Prust lying about something like this, especially if it's all mic'd up. Too easy to prove he is lying, instant fine and all the ref's would never give Montreal any call again if he tried to make one of them look bad and lied.

Far too much to lose and way to little to gain for bringing this to public light for me to think he is lying. Then again I'm a Montreal fan so I'm obviously biased when it comes to defending my teams players.

I always forget do refs work the whole series or do they rotate around? Either way, going public like that is playing with fire.

I think MTL is donezo. They're not the type of team to dig out of a 2-0 hole.

Thankfully the Rangers won. I missed the game live but saw the replay. They looked a hell of a lot better this game. Ovechkin is a goddamn machine this year though, lordy.

also I should add that Holtby legitimately looks like a top 10 goalie these days. I always thought he looked pretty good but this year he really took a step forward. The Caps overall look so much better under Trotz.

He might not have as many trophies as Crosby to show for it. When it comes to goal scoring there truly is no one like Ovie. He always seems to find a way to put it in the net even if it means he's cheating or cherry picking.

I'm happy that we've finally gotten away from the Sid v Ovie thing, since it was so stupid to compare a C and LW. And I am glad that we are past the point of worrying about how the best pure goal scorers of all time doesn't do more in his own end. (seriously, how bad was Oates? Yeesh). After the years of shit coaches that Washington had after Fuckin Bruce left, it's nice to see him doing well again.

Not sure why, but AV seems to love putting players who are liabilities on the ice. a lot has been said about his choice of Tanner Glass in the lineup, but Keith Yandle has been exceptionally bad thus far. Seems as if every time the puck goes his way in a big moment he loses his balance or just doesn't control it and a play that was otherwise well set up goes horribly awry. I counted at least three times in the third period tonight where that was the case. If Duclair ends up being anything for Phoenix, this is going to go down as a horrific trade.

I haven't watched much of the Rangers games up until this point but I just figured it was a bad night for him maybe? Never got to see him in Phoenix and I don't watch the Rangers really ever but I had heard great things about him. Watched last nights game and it was more than three times I saw him trying to make a play and fail or cost his team an easy clear etc. He seemed to turn the puck over every time he touched it last night, especially at crucial times.

Not going to pass judgement on him as I have such a small sample size, but if that really is any indication of his play... NYR lost that trade badly.

Yandle wasn't too hot last night but I think overall he's been pretty fantastic for them. They don't have anyone that has that skillset on the team currently. McDonagh is great but doesn't have the same nose for offense as Yandle. Boyle's best days are behind him now. He's not gonna suppress a ton of shots, and his style of play will result in some turnovers. But there's been a ton of chances generated by him because of how he mioves at the point, his ability to pinch quicker than anyone else, his ability on the rush, home run passes, etc. He's a lite version of what Karlsson does: he doesn't play a lot in his end because he generally moves the puck forward

That's fair, like I said I hadn't seen much of him previously and last night was the first time I really noticed or paid any attention to his play and it seems kind of meh for the price of Duclair. But if he is like a Karlsson lite then I guess it's not bad. I had heard lots of good things about him, shame I really only saw him play at his worst it seems xD.

I'm still gonna say Phoe- I mean Arizona.... Wins that trade just for reuniting 2/3's of the sweet world juniors line in Domi and Duclair. I doubt Ottawa would be willing to trade and give them the full set though.
