Not sure how I feel about the suspension. Palat's hit looked pretty similar but didn't even get a meeting.

I guess it kind of balances out due to that bullshit Ericsson pulled in that fight, but if anyone should have been suspended, it should have just been him or all 3. It is what it is though, let's go Bolts, we can close this out.

Any Bolts fans thinking of watching at Channelside? I didn't get tickets to the game and there are too many non-fans at my local bar to make it really fun.

An absolute joke of a ruling by the NHL. A suspension on a player with no prior discipline history on a hit that caused no injuries and wasn't a penalty on the ice is bad enough. But the elbow actually isn't contacting the head like states in the video, but only the forearm. Also, Kronwall is NOT airborne until after initial contact. Which was one of two key selling points for the ruling of the suspension.

Some of his elbow makes contact with Kucherov's head, and one of Kronwall's skates is in the air when he makes contact while the other is partially in the air. The principle point of contact is with the head. You can't do that anymore.

I think it's a pretty brutal suspension, in regular situation yea a game is probably deserved.. But considering what has gone unsuspended and deemed 'okay' by the league these playoffs, to suspend Kronwall for a GAME 7 is bad imo. By the standard set by this suspension both Washington and the Islanders would have had like 6 people total on there bench for game 7.

eh I'm fine with it just because he was off/leaving the ice before contact, and he cracked him in the head with his elbow/forearm. That's really what sold it for me. I think normally people think Kronwall hits are always illegal and they aren't a lot. This was.

Sucks Quintal is waiting for the last game of the first round to take a stand though.

There were a couple incidents that were 1 game ban worthy in the first round imo

Hits to the head are dangerous. It doesn't matter about Game 7s and whatnot. The league wants to take intentionally dangerous hits out of the game, so this suspension is the least they could do. Similarly, Ovechkin's hit was a serious boarding call that passed by without anything. I enjoy all the 5v5 that the Playoffs provide, but the type of physicality permitted by officials and the league office in this first round has been way too high.

I agree, hits to the head are dangerous, but they have to be consistent with this. It's a brutal suspension for Kronwall in game 7 because no one else has been suspended for similar hits all throughout the playoffs so far. Suddenly deciding they want to suspend a player for a game 7 is brutal.

If they had been suspending players for all those other very similar (Some worse) hits I'd be fine with this one game suspension. The fact that this is the only time and it's a game 7 is just plain bad by the league imo.

NHL PSD is a joke. Kronwall deserves a suspension but with how many worse things they have let go in round 1 (CGY/Van first couple games anyone?)They really shouldn't be suspending him

So Morrow gave Zidlicky a concussion in game 6. But don't worry, he will be still playing. So will Palat. Not dirty evil Kronwall though. At this point it's almost sad what a joke this facade has become.

He raises his elbow to Kucherov's face when he couldn't kept his arms down, but he's leaving the air when the hit arrives. 1-day fits because it's his first time but that's ridiculously unsafe. Palat's hit should be looked into as well because he's charging since he jumped too, but Glendening? was kinda double hit/stopping and lining up a board hit there would be all sorts of difficult. I hate both teams equally so don't call me a fanboy, but it's clear that Kronwall's hit should be disciplined, either suspension or fine made sense.

People aren't arguing against the suspension as much as they are arguing that the way discipline has been handled in these playoffs has been wildly inconsistent.
