yea it's probably going to be close but the u.s. had a pretty easy road so far. disregarding goaltending they are probably even strength with russia, and weaker than canada. not sure how tavares changes the picture though.
teams that are underestimated, and thus their opponents also underestimated in this tourney are finland and latvia. canada's rough win over latvia shouldn't appear that bad, and their win against finland should look better.
hockeyprospectus picked sweden to win the tourney same as me. but they've looked a bit worse than expected so far

Not gonna lie, I'm super nervous for our game vs USA. I mean, out team hasn't looked as outstanding as they should be, we just haven't had the scoring to match our shots output. It'll be interesting for sure.

As a half fin with my heart pumping for Sweden it's a dreadful matchup as i run the risk of having a collection of smug finish faces staring at me the next christmas dinner. Jeez, that year Sweden lost the final in the world cup with 6 - 1 was the worst. All these fucking mumin trolls repeating the words "6 - 1" with a stupid smile on their faces. If Finlands wins gold in this olympics, it will be the greatest accomplishment by any team in international hockey since the NHL era. In fact if Sweden wins (because of our injuries) it will also be the greatest accomplishment by any team in international hockey since the NHL era. I will be really surprised if Sweden or Finland end up going all the way, but it's certainly possible.
I predicted Canada, USA, Sweden, and I still believe that's how it will go down, although because of the brackets, Sweden will get the silver, and USA the bronze. Both semi-finals looks pretty open though.
