Protests do not work because Dolan loves the news, bad news is still news on the back pages of the Sports section. Boycotts at MSG do not work because corporate tickets/tourists snap up tickets to watch things at MSG. Boycotting Cablevision/MSG doesn't work because of telecom companies and local monopolies. The only way of not paying for the channel is to not get cable from any other provider (and I think that most people are not going to cut the cord). In short, the only way of saving the Knicks is to not pay any attention to the Knicks, or have the NBA commissioner's office intervene with his hires, such as Donnie Walsh.

How the hell does Dantoni still have a job? I know the Lakers are tanking at this point but these performances are just woeful. He should be driven into the desert somewhere and sacked and told to walk back to civilization. Games like the surprising win vs OKC are what help his credibility.

I'm pretty sure all of those players could start for the Lakers right now and it would be an improvement. Besides, what do you care? You knew coming in that it was going to be a lost season. Might as well get a good draft pick.

This season's Lakers are just about as bad as the 05-06 Lakers minus Kobe. It's not the coach.

With that said, the Lakers were trying to make the playoffs early on and aren't really putting anything together that will last beyond this season. D'Antoni is doing whatever he can to win on any given night just to keep his job. On the other hand, the Celtics conceded this season from the outset and have been focusing on player development and implementing a system that can hopefully form the framework for the next few seasons. In that light, one could argue that Stevens has been more "successful" for his team's particular goals.

Raymond Felton and JR Smith have PLAYER OPTIONS in 2015-16 which means they are stuck with them for the next 3 years. They are paying Amare Stoudemire's Knees 23 million next season. Shump is not taking the next step and may even be getting worse due to the toxic environment. The only bright spot on the horizon is Tim Hardaway Jr being better than expected. Almost forgot, they traded 3 draft picks for 11 million dollars of this: ![]() Bargs the god.....fucking love that gif

I wouldn't value players like Cory Joseph, Aron Baynes or Jeff Aryes any higher then the players the lakers put out there. It's just that those guys have a system to follow which gets the most of them. And that's on coaching. D'antoni is and always has been a lousy coach who is too rigid in his 'system' to adapt to the players he has. Popovich for example has adapted his game plan dramatically when Duncan could no longer carry the Spurs and they had to rely on Parker and others more for points. D'antoni would never do that. Add to that, his teams' defense is always mediocre as well, regardless of the talent on his team. I doubt anyone really expected much from the Lakers this season but some of the most recent games are just a haphazard collection of guys playing without any semblance of a team. Anyhow, my Spurs are finally looking good again this season now that all the injuries have subsided. I suspect it's going to be a Spurs-Thunder rematch in the WCF although Houston and the Clippers could manage to get there as well. Series between those 4 teams are going to rock this year in the west playoffs.

I suspect it's going to be a Spurs-Thunder rematch in the WCF although Houston and the Clippers could manage to get there as well. Series between those 4 teams are going to rock this year in the west playoffs. The team you see now is a shell of its former self. This team isn't playing for this season anymore and hasn't been for a few months now. When they were motivated and coordinated they looked like a sharp team that was just lacking in overall talent. They were fun to watch and even inspiring at times with how they were competing despite being so horribly outmatched on paper. Were they ever going to win the title? No. But they were much better than last in the West, they looked like they were ready to compete for a playoff spot. Injuries killed all of that. Once we were down to 8 players and invoking rarely heard of provisions of the rule book to keep from forfeiting it dawned on everyone that this season was just never meant to be, and no amount of heart and spirit was going to change that. The season's over for us. It's a full on tank fest now. When this team was actually trying to win they were fun to watch, that time is over.
