jesus..what a poopoo platter lol...also...worst place to go for a big man as well...not looking good for T-Rob Houston's looking really solid to land Dwight. Morey isn't doing this on the off chance he signs there. I'd say it's 90%+ that Dwight goes to Houston. I wouldn't be surprised if Morey is doing all this based solely off of the potential that Dwight signs. He amnestied Scola, who would definitely have returned value in a trade, in an attempt to land Dwight the last time they had a chance to get him and obviously didn't have confirmation that time. Morey knows that you have to go all-in for big time FAs like Dwight when the opportunity arises, and he's doing that now. Plus, Lin and Asik don't seem like the type of players to hold it against management if they don't get Dwight and they end up still playing in HOU next season. not sure about asik, but i can see lin holding it against management if he's being shopped around. the guy is kind of a douche I agree, the way he took that money from Houston when he was supposed to re-sign for peanuts because all his fame was due to playing in NY. What a douchetard.
wasn't talking about that -- i live in houston and have a lot of friends who know him through church/have run into him while out about town. from a fan standpoint it seems like he's a lot different from the humble/grounded christian kid that the media's portrayed him as, especially since now he has fame and money.
also seems like he is really good buddies with kevjumba, guess he rubbed off on jeremy a bit

How is Bargs going to work with the Knicks?
Are they bringing him in as an overpaid back-up C for Tyson? As a stretch PF? Does Amare then become the biggest LOL in the NBA since Rashard Lewis signed that ridiculous contract?
I have no idea what the Knicks are thinking. Just none. Bargs just isn't a good player. Poor Tyson Chandler must wake up in the middle of the night with cold sweats at the prospect of playing with a forward line-up of Melo, Amare and Bargs.
|
Definitely agree about Rondo. Rondo's value is probably at the lowest it's going to be right now, don't trade him when you can wait a bit and trade him later for much more.
|
iggy on golden state would be amazing
|
He would, but you'd probably have to give up one of Barnes or Thompson to get him in a S&T with Denver.
That's a big call to make.
Like would you trade say Biedrens and Klay (or Barnes) for Iggy (signed at 4/50)?
|
would not trade barnes, maybe Klay. A front court of barnes, iggy, and bogut with curry on the outside? They can just bring in any spot up shooter and he would do fine lol
I could see biedrens and klay for iggy yea
david lee for 6th man if he could handle that, that would be a very nice line-up.

Yup, I have the same thoughts, but because it's the Knicks, anything is possible. I have to suspect that some motivation for this trade was to keep up with the Joneses, so to speak. They literally have to throw 'Melo at PF' out the window to make this work.

why do contracts needs to wait till july 10 to be signed if FA opens today?
|
I wouldn't give up a second rounder for Bargs let alone what the Knicks are offering.

Vincent Goodwill @vgoodwill 1h #Pistons believe Josh Smith can play the 3 and spend time at the four as well. So he can play with Monroe/Drummond, then with either/or

For some reason I can live with Smith at the right price. Other people are talking about JR Smith though. >.>

He can probably find a good cancer hospital/center too now that KG is gone!

You want to give up assets for a player coming off a bad knee injury? I like Rondo, but the injury scares me.

And I think Smoove/Monroe/Drummond is a better defensive front court than with Iggy. Smoove is probably the most underrated defender in the league. If they're intent on paying silly money to a SF (or kind of PF) who can't shoot, I'd rather it be him. Iggy's a better team guy, but the Pistons need a bit of a headcase.

The Warriors offered the Blazers a deal centered around David Lee and Brandon Rush for LaMarcus Aldridge, per Woj
interesting....don't know how much more lee would add to the blazers but given aldridge and lee are both on $14M and aldridge 2 years younger. i dunno...i'd probably take it if i were the dubs?
|
Absolutely. Lee is such a defensive liability. I'd much rather have LMA if I were the Dubs.
|
I wonder if that offer from the Dubs got past the "Lol, seriously?" stage.

Wow, Bargs is hot property. Dubs tried to trade Lee for him:
The Golden State Warriors are exploring trade opportunities for All-Star forward David Lee and the three years, $44 million left on his contract, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Lee, 30, is a popular and well-respected player within the Golden State franchise but his contract is considerable, and moving him for a star – or a player on a shorter deal – makes financial sense.
Golden State offered Lee in a package for Toronto's Andrea Bargnani, sources said, but the Raptors made a deal with the New York Knicks to shed the final two years, $22.5 million on Bargnani's contract.
The Warriors tried to pry Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge as part of an offer that included Brandon Rush, league sources said. Portland has been engaging trade talks for Aldridge, but has pursued more robust offers than Golden State's proposal, sources said.
Lee had one of his best NBA seasons, averaging 18.5 points and 11.2 rebounds and making the Western Conference All-Star team. He suffered a torn hip flexor on April 20 in the playoffs and eventually had surgery to repair it on May 30.
Like, wtf. I get wanting to have cap flexibility but it's fucking Bargs!
