"fans" just showing up when the playoffs start. how can the fucking game be rigged? its like the players can just turn on/off their shooting as they desire I'm actually quite amazed at several non- BBall watchers I know who watched the game and are legitimately claiming the same thing. Amazing game, and glad there's a game 7.

As a Spurs fan that game was devastating. I can't remember the last time I was so upset by a game. Going into the 4th quarter with a 10 point lead only to blow it 6min in is one thing. However to have a FIVE point lead with 28 seconds left to win the world title and losing is fucking unacceptable. A major choke. That sequence was like a perfect storm of fuck ups. Kawhai makes his FT, this game is over. If they get the first offensive rebound, James doesn't make the first 3. If they get the second offensive rebound, Allen doesn't make his 3. And ofc the best rebounder the Spurs have is sitting on the bench for both plays. However I think I'm more upset at the first 6 min of the 4th quarter. You build this huge 12 pt lead with 12min left and you send in Manu and Splitter, who up to that point were playing like the MVPs for the Heat team. Manus play last night was disgusting. Every time he moved with the ball I was screaming at my TV as he was actively hurting the Spurs and keeping the Spurs lead from getting out of hand. Ginobli deserves the bulk of the blame for the Spurs lost. Period, end of story. What really bothers me though is how long Duncan and Parker sat. I mean this is literally 13 minutes to win the fucking world title. Are you telling me Parker really can't play FOUR more minutes when he has to? They had a fucking 9 day rest! Also, he wasn't even sweating on the sideline he look bored for fucks sake! Ofc by having Manu and Splitter on the floor, combined with Green picking a horrible game to go cold = lead evaporates and gives Miami momentum. This shit should have never gone to OT. I'll be with family and won't be able to watch game 7, but I have very little confidence that Spurs can win that game. This sort of game has to be hugely demoralizing + the Heat are great in close out games AND in the history of the league with 2-3-2 format, no team has EVER won game 7 on the road. Everything is looking like there is no reason for that to change. If the Spurs lose this series that last quarter, and especially those last 28 seconds, will (rightfully) haunt the players and Pop for the rest of their lives. They've lived on execution, free throws and discipline all year and ofc they lose all 3 when they need them most. Also, I feel like Pop out coached himself essentially. Relying too much on the bench in the most important part of the game + benching Duncan at the end. While these have worked in the past I feel like this moment called for something else. This moment called for the best PF of all time being on the floor and for the best playoff PG of this generation being on the fucking floor as well. /rant

You and the other 20-30 people who watch agree =) Off-topic: The balls on these CLips! It's actually surprising and a great thing to see. There is no way they should pass up on Doc Rivers because of a 2nd round pick or something stupid like that... but to actually front because they think they have the leverage is awesome to see. Olshey was responsible for not letting Bledsoe get away in the CP3 trade and now look at how valuable that could turn out. But Olshey is gone now and whoever is running things, if they get this deal done, will have impressed me at least. Doc Rivers as coach is so legitimate it will have to stop all the Clipper jokes around here I think. If they can flip Griffin and Bledsoe for Howard to put with KG (makes sense to both teams). Their defense would just be 0.0

What's disappointing is that Popovich seemingly always talks about basketball not being complicated and just being what it is and going with the flow. He should have trusted the best power forward of all time to do the right thing.

These are supposed to be two of the best in the business and the mistakes they made in the 4th quarter/OT were just mind boggling. Just goes to show how far coaching can still go in the NBA, it's easily the worst coached professional league atm Care to enlighten us with some examples? Love this quote from Ray Allen, specially if you pay attention to how he looked like a dancer doing his steps out there on the court to get the shot off: “When I saw [Bosh] get the ball, I just backpedaled right to the three-point line, and I was hoping I was where I needed to be,” Allen said. “I wasn’t quite sure. But just from years of shooting, I got to my spot. … I just knew get to the three-point line. We need a three. Two points isn’t going to cut it.”

If not for some miracle plays they lose it in the 4th going back to that terrible line-up for no reason. If it aint broke dont fix it. Pop taking out duncan at the end of the 4th. Didn't we learn anything from the taking out Hibbert game? Apparently not. You need a presence down there to rebound/rim protect at the end of the game. Ducan is more than capable of defending just as well as whoever they had out there so I just don't get it. Pop keeping in Ginobli that late. He's playing like trash, there is no reason for him to be in the game. He does a terrible cross court pass and creates yet another turnover. etc etc

Queue is a line in which people wait. And yeah, it's easy to criticize after the fact. As a general, non basketball specific statement, fans will always say whatever's most "obviously" good should be done; it's up to the coaches to pick the few but crucial times less expected players will pull through. There were so many iconic moments, including but not limited to Miller's one shoe three pointer, LeBron the headband-less monster with force-of-nature determination, Parker's supernatural powers down the stretch, Duncan's vintage 2003 destruction, Bosh's well-deserved redemption, and of course, Ray's three from the corner. I am rooting for the Heat, but as a basketball fan, I am ECSTATIC there is a Game 7.

on another note, wtf happened to this website last night? i come on here to try to discuss the best game of the decade and the site is down? that sucked. oh and another thing, why did they review Allen's shot if the spurs did'nt even have a timeout? It was a legit shot, but still, popovich asked for review and he got it, on what grounds?

In fact, I'm pretty sure he was pissed about it because he wanted to be able to push the ball and the replay helped the Heat set up. On the other hand, it also let him (illegally) put Duncan in the game so it goes both ways. How quickly everyone's sentiments change. ![]() And I think something went wrong with the site last night and the host company did a crappy job dealing with it. I was sad it was down for most of the game too. ![]()
