what do you expect him to do? He has taken a lot of crap for the team for the last two years now. And now they just turn around and put him back in the frying pan of Vancouver media.

Bickel re-signs with Chicago for 4 million a year. Another Joel Ward type deal or is Bickel capable of becoming Milan Lucic circa 2011?

Talk about overpaid. Bickell isn't even half the player Lucic is. He has never scored 40 points in a regular season and is being paid 4 million per year. He cashed in by having 1 great postseason playing on a loaded team.

Bolland for 3 picks. Didnt realize Toronto needed a 3rd line shut down guy.

I'm so glad that guy is out of the western conference.

Why?

Leafs need some centers before getting rid of Bozak.

The Canucks trade while it may not be the best thing, it isn't exactly as horrible as some people are making it out to be. In the end Schneider is the only trade they really had because of the luo contract. With Schnieder being 27, it is not like he is 20-21 soon to be franchise goaltender. He definitely has a few great years ahead of him, good luck to him hopefully he makes it big in NJ, tough to play there after two decades of Brodeur playing there. Luo is still great and personally I find him better than Schnieder (if you disagree that's fine). The whole situation was frustrating to say the least which everyone can agree on that.

Anyways, hope the canucks can make some more moves this offseason to fix up the D-line and then get to work on meshing well under Tote's new system. Good be a great year for us and should hold off all the haters for a few months. Who am I kidding, haters gonna hate.

dunno but it was speculated that the only 2 players montreal was going to trade up for were horvat and lazar, apparently they had a deal done at around 10-11 for horvat. lazar went to ottawa pretty high after that

As a Devils fan, I'm happy about this. I'll admit that I was livid for a moment when I saw that Nichushkin was available and Bettman showed up to announce a trade, since a scoring forward is the most immediate need for NJ, but this makes more sense overall, so I'm pretty stoked. Lou's still some manner of black magician as far as I'm concerned. :D

Also, Horvat is very likely going to be a regular player in a few years; I think it's a good pick.

at first i thought it was an equal trade but the more i think about it the more i think vancouver got the better deal. schnieder is 27 and hes gonna have to play behind brodeur for 1+ year(until his contract is up), he'll be 28 by the time he becomes NJ's no1 goalie. that gives them 5-6 good seasons.. dunno if thats enough to give up someone like horvat or nichushkin

I'm a devils fan too (more of a nucks fan though), still have a jersey signed by the stanley cup winning NJ team of 99-00. Was lucky enough my cousin was on their team and got it signed.

Yeah that's what I'm not entirely sure about, considering the relative lack of depth of forwards on the team.

However, given that NJ has to forfeit a 1st round pick next season, acquiring a solid goaltender right now is critical for damage control at the very least. Imagine the shitstorm that would occur if the Devils have to forfeit a top 10, or god forbid top 5, pick next year.

I also like this option going forward better than the prospects in the system.

@ Shelke14 always nice to see another Devils fan in Canada! :D

Honestly the most important thing is where Luongo is mentally after the last two years of expecting out. If he's the professional he's been lately though this shouldn't be an issue.
When SC2 came for BW, I cried. Now LoL/Dota2 comes for SC2, and I laugh. \o/
