nah fuck those reebok oly crossfit shoes. If you're not gonna shell out for some adipowers (i love mine, the size runs true for me (i'm usually a 12 and 12s on these fit me perfect after a couple days to break in)) then atleast get something decent like a do-win, risto, or the adidas power perfect

Don't go with those. They're really crossfit shoes disguised as olympic shoes - significantly more flexibile, looser fit, less stable and less durable than an oly shoe is supposed to be. They're supposedly designed for WODs that focus on Cleans, snatches, and their variations but also incorporate other things (box jumps, rope climbs, sprints, rowing, power lifting movements, kettlebells, bodyweight exercises..... Crossfit does a lot of stuff) without being too impossible - I sure as hell would not want to do box jumps or go running in my adipowers (although they're definitely not "uncomfortable" for just walking around, like I expected them to be).
My adipowers ran true to size. I'm a 12.5 in dress shoes, and in adidas running shoes, and a 12.5 fit perfectly. I was very happy about that, because most brands don't even make 12.5 - it's either a 12 which hurts my foot, or a 13 which is really loose.
If you're not ready to shell out for the adipowers, look into the Pendlays from MDUSA. if I remember right they're only $130, they don't look bad (although the reebok shoes do look better, this is about performance, not looks) and they're a dedicated olympic shoe with a good reputation.

I think I'll just go with Adipower 10.5 since I can just wear thicker sports socks.
Thanks for the input.
Is Adipower really much better than Power Perfect?
How are the Romaleos?
adipower vs. power perfect (AFAIK - this may not be everything, and I've only worn power perfects a handful of times):
Adipower has a different material for the heel, which is notably lighter and should be more durable. Adipower is made of a more breathable mesh than power perfect (less "swamp foot"). Adipower's have a rubber coating on the back of the tongue so that it will stay in place, rather than sliding to the side of the shoe. Adipowers have a more flexible toe box. Adipowers have a one piece sole, power perfects have a two piece sole. Finally the strap on adipowers is higher on the foot (closer to the ankle) which distributes the compression better, allowing you to tighten the shoe more without cutting off your own circulation.
as far as the romaleos, the only thing I know is that they have two straps instead of one, they're wider, heavier, and hotter than the adipowers. I only know one person that has them - and they love them, but that person has never owned another style of shoe, so they have nothing to compare with.
Deadlift (97.5%): 1x1 @ 365 lbs Speed deadlift (70%): 2x3 @ 265 lbs (rest as needed b/w sets) Power shrugs (75% of current): 2x5 @ 225 lbs
Romanian deadlift: 2x5x205 lbs
Did 365 for a 2.25 BW deadlift! (Next milestone 2.5BW) Felt really hard, but I'm confident I can finish this program off next week with 375 and a 30lb PR. Difficulty: 8.5/10
hah, nice job Mementoss. Back's a lot less rounded than me even if the lift is slower. I'll be going for more this weekend. Too bad I don't have a Terran t-shirt to match

wow anything above 2x BW is very impressive. congrats dude
Forced deload week since uni gym closes for spring break (blah) Got my last workout in: Bench 200lb 5,3,2 Pull-ups 13,13,7 Weighted GHR and some light deadlifts. Probably about time to take an easy week or two. Going to focus on running and being consistent with the bodyweight skills.
bad form on the squat due to weight but held it together well in 2nd set. bench struggled to do 60kg and bailed. bicep was hurting a bit , i noticed it was hurting a bit the other day too. same with ohp, just done some reps and, confused at my utter weakness, moved on. pclean failed a couple at 70kg so just got some easy reps in at 60kg. bailed after a quick fail at 1 pullup.
will try bench/ohp again tomorrow ...
preliminary weighed in at 93kg give or take. kinda relieved - thought i'd be more like 96kg.
rallying myself again and aiming to fix my diet/protein intake, as this could be the cause of my constant upper body failure/negative progress (9 weeks now)
it comes down to: a) poor frequency (benching/attempting approx 13 times in 9 weeks since i hit 80kg 7-7-7) b) inadequate protein intake (pclean/squat/dead are doing fine though. but my protein intake is shit) c) addition of pullups to the end of every workout
these are undeniable FACTS however much i want the truth to be otherwise.

I got the power perfect II and I like them quite a lot. Never had any other oly shoes so I don't know how they fare against other shoes. I think you'll be fine with any adidas shoe, they've a long tradition in making oly shoes, they know what they're doing. Obviously the adipower and romaloes are very good, they use them in the olympics, lu xioajun for instance got the adipowers (amongst others). Personally I don't think it makes that much a difference what you're getting. I mean the difference between lifting barefooted/in running shoes and lifting in oly shoes is quite noticeable, but I don't think it really matters which oly shoes you're getting as long as they aren't some cheap piece of crap.
This site helped me with picking the right size http://www.maxbarbell.com/products/vx3-wei-rui-weightlifting-shoes couldn't find a store selling oly shoes where I live. Btw, all adidas shoes are interchangeable sizewise afaik, go to a shoe store and find a pair of adidas sneakers or w/e that fit you and it will be the same for the oly shoes.
