25.01.2013 Bodyweight: 102,8kg
Back Squat weight sets reps 125 1 12
Overhead Press weight sets reps 61 1 8
Dragon Flag weight sets reps comments bw 4 2-3-f-2 no depth
Chin Up weight sets reps comments +17,5 1 3 PR
Deadlift weight sets reps 142,5 1 12
Jump Robe: 34 consecutive Double-Unders (PR)
Squat felt fantastic. Chin Ups were great, set a PR, and on top of that I'm around ~4kg heavier than when I set the old one back in December. Overhead Press was ok, and Deadlift suffered from doing Chin Ups first. After the 8th rep I was already spend, but that is the beauty of the 531 rep scheme: I absolutely wanted to beat the 11 reps from two weeks ago. And so nearly passed out in the end.

Push Press before Front Squat is much better than the other way around. I think it is time for a vid on those Dragonflags! Repping them at your bodyweight is a rare feat. Not quite there with Dragon Flags (lacking some depth and bend at the hip a little), but here is the requested video nonetheless: + Show Spoiler +

Woot, hit 260lb bench today! Probably had another 5lb in me considering how fast & effortlessly the bar went up.
Back's still (barely) in one piece and my squats are almost back to pre-Christmas levels. Hopefully deadlifting will not reaggravate my injury (again).

skipped wednesday got in an assignment skipped thurs, fri too (too tired, could get a lift home) -_-
sat squat 75kg 3x6 bench 85kg 4, 80kg 5, 70kg 11-7
endurance is shot, i spent ~15 seconds trying to get the last reps of each set up, i had the strength but i think i lost my endurance when i took the 1.5 week break (hence some 70kg sets)
dead 120kg 5-5-2
first set was easy, after that i was doing a fainting routine

They need some work to be perfect but I don't think I've ever seen anyone your size do them as well.

After a training accident I did a major knee op in June last year. I almost hit 150kg squats before that (I'm 188cm/80kg), but I felt like everything was reset back to zero because 6 months of not being able to exercise on land or lift kinda ruins your body :p.
My ortho finally gave me the green light to start lifting again last week. The first session I did 65kg and the soreness aroudn my knee lasted for like 5 days lol. I went back and did 75, then 85 and tomorrow I'm thinking of actually trying to break 100 because the session with 85 felt too easy. It feels unreal and I can't wait to find my old self again.
Also the insane amount of swimming I've done over the past couple months has paid off. My shoulders are still pretty strong despite not having lifted for so long and I'm working my press back up again as well.
Happy lifting to all and always remember to prevent injuries. As for me I am literally bursting with excitement thinking about my next session

Hit a PR 123kg front squat, was hoping for 125-130kg but it's cool. Did some bench press after like 9-10 weeks of not doing any, set of five with 60kg was kind of hard LOL. My plan for the upcoming weeks is to really focus on squats and drop all weight on sn, cj and just work on positions with empty bar.

Man, this gives me a flashback from the time I had a knee op. Everything was good, finished rehab and physio said I was good to go. And I started squatting again, feeling great until I crashed and had to start rehab again.
Don't do that mistake.
I'd recommend you just started at 50kg, doing 3 sets of 5 reps and then increasing by 5kgs. It may take you a little longer to get back up at 150kg but it sure as hell will get you there and a whole lot faster than having to start rehab again and starting over 2-3 months from now.

That sounds rough man, physio is such a pain. I'll be careful not to push myself beyond what the knee can handle, thanks

Soreness is good, pain is not. Swelling is also bad.
But good luck and hope you recover quickly!

27.01.2013 bw: ?
Back Squat weight sets reps 117,5 5 5
Overhead Press weight sets reps 58,5 5 5
Chin Up weight sets reps +8,75 3 5
Pendlay Row weight sets reps 75 3 7-7-8
Hanging Leg Raise weight sets reps bw 2 5
Biceps Curl weight sets reps 25 3 10
I kind of have the feeling that my biceps is comparably week. At least when I do Chin Ups the muscle feels like it is gonna explode any second. So I am trying to add some Curls and see if that does something, though my discipline in doing them regularly is questionable at best. And someone stole (or mistakenly took) my towel .

I'd bath in the sweat of mighty Malinor, shit must increase your weightlifting abilities, recovery and overall awesomeness. Yes, sounds like something I'd steal. (But it sucks to get your shit stolen from you, sucks sucks).
I'm pretty excited about tomorrow, I'm going to start lifting again and well seems like it can all go uphill from here .
wish me luck!

making venison with onions and fried garlic potatoes for dinner tonight - best post workout meal ever.
In honor of such an event I'm going to pull at least a 225 deadlift, because fuck doing no lower body.
|
Edit: Realised you probably meant lbs not kg.
Still, jealous of the Venison. I might get some from the market this week, but it's not exactly cheap.

Mine was free, my dad shot two deer this hunting season, so he had over a hundred pounds of it, and he gave me some.
Yes, I meant pounds, considering that my PR deadlift is only 155-160kg (can't even remember...) Either way, I didn't get close to it. Mutliple injuries started acting up even at 60kg, and I didn't want to push it. Less injuries than the last time I tried to deadlift though, so I'll keep trying.

None of my friends killed any deer this season :-( usually get about fifty pounds a year from roommate

So I've never eaten post workout meals except for Saturdays. Am I doing this wrong or what.
Also to celebrate the new year, I've dropped rows, picked up weighted-pull-ups and front-squats (instead of 3x back-squats a week). New excercises are super fun. Learning Snatch and C&J as well with an empty bar. I also found an Oly club about 40 minutes drive so that could be a possibility too.

Yeah I remembered you possibly had a hernia in your hip. Are all the injuries from lifting?
Venison here is all farmed really, as much as an undomesticated animal can be. They live in herds which are owned and partly cared for, and then they just shoot them, but ofc you can only shoot one at a time because after the first shot the others get spoiled with adrenaline etc. So it all ends up rather expensive, like $70/kg for a decent cut.
