This was my first one and I hyperventilated pretty bad during it lol Nah bro, MRIs are a piece of cake. I had an MRI last week for my right hip to look at some weird bone fragment that is floating in my hip flexor tendons. Worst part of it was sitting still for 40 minutes. My lower back kills me on a flat surface because I have the glutes and thighs of a horse. Open or closed MRI though? And can't they stick you in feet first for a hip MRI? I've had a few MRIs of my head before, and it really sucks when you've only got ~2 inches clearance on either shoulder, and you're strapped down 100% unable to move. In that tube for ~1.5 hours, that's that shit I don't like.
No, I went in head first.

The place I went to for imaging was more like a spa than a doctor's. I didn't want to leave ... damn radiologists and their big $$$.
MRI itself was like lying on a sofa. They gave me a menu before with what kind of audio I wanted so it was just lying there on a comfy couch with big noise canceling headphones listening to the radio.

Biggest issue for me was that I had to lie still. I'm not really comfortable either sitting or lying still for more than 5 minutes at a time, even when sleeping.

Anyone have recommendations for jump stretch bands or w/e those bands are that Kelly is always using?
I assume they're rogue... just don't want to make the wrong investment as they don't appear to be cheap.

The resistance bands, they seem a little more versatile. I guess I'm asking is Rogue stuff worth or was there something else you guys liked?

Iron Woody (another brand Rogue sells) tends to sell just as high quality of stuff at a cheaper price. Resistance bands are basically interchangeable, and they're slightly cheaper for the amount of resistance they offer. If you want to spend a bit more money to get the additional "Rogue quality" (really can't say there would be any for resistance bands, buying a generic brand is probably just as good) go ahead and get it, but any brand should be fine. Iron Woody sells relatively cheap bands for stretching/mobility work, 35 lbs of resistance for $18/pair.

I'm guessing I just flipped out when I realized I had a few inches of clearance from my face and I couldn't really move cause my shoulders were going up the sides of the tube because it was ridiculously thin. It was my first and I will probably be fine in the future when I won't be a scared little baby
In other news, I got back to actual barbell lifting today and it felt great. Did reps with 225 on deadlift focusing on form and I didn't feel anything bad in my back. Feeling a bit of inflammation now, but icing it should set me straight! Really feeling like I'm gonna be able to get to 100% in a month or so!

Hey guys... So I am 26 years old... 6'1, and 245 pounds. Not in good shape right now. I've been weight lifting and trying to gain some muscle mass for the past 6 months or so, as well as doing some light to moderate intensity cardio for the past couple months. I want to try and put on some muscle mass before I really focus hard on shedding the weight.
Anyway, I started P90X on Monday, and for anyone that's done it, you know how hard it is, especially if you're starting when you're out of shape. I've done the workouts alright so far, but here comes the point of today's post. Today is the dreaded YOGA DAY. I haven't stretched since 10th grade gym class in high school when I was 16. When I try to touch my toes I can get to about mid shin with my fingertips. When I sit down, I have to lean backward a bit to get my legs to lie flat.
My question is... Should I spend time trying to do Yoga X today? Or should I just find a basic stretching video and do that for a few weeks before I attempt it? Let me know.

The Yoga X is pretty challenging but I don't think your flexibility issues is a reason to pass on it. Just try to do what you can without compromising good form. If you'd like to take your flexibility/mobility issues seriously, which I think you should, check out www.mobilitywod.com and dive in.

Yay, I was 53 kg last saturday, and now I'm 55,5! I cheated the last days (junk food all the way), but I knew I'll be living in my hometown again where there's not even a single McDonalds, so I had to. I'm also trying to eat some Nutella but boy, it's not meant for mass-consume.
I've given up on natural protein sources though, it's such a huge fuss for even a small amount. I'll give powder a try. Yes, I'm gullible, and yes, I'd like to see results soon after I start going to gym, but mainly, I just don't want to spend my entire day keeping up with my protein needs. I'm fine with feeling shit being full almost 0-24, or colapsing after a hard work-out, but this protein thingy just demotivates me.
I'd need your help on what kind (and how much) of protein powder should I get.

Yeah thanks, this is pretty much what everyone I ask is telling me. I think I'll try and tough it out.

I just go on slickdeals.net and search for protein deals If you look around you can usually find something for ~5$/pound instead of the usual 8-10.
Keep in mind at your 55kg bodyweight you only NEED probably 50-100g of protein a day. Which is like two chicken breasts. Lol

I made this the other day http://allrecipes.com/recipe/creamy-bacon-wrapped-chicken/ so simple, so tasty and it's like 1600 calories with almost 150g of protein.

Why isn't cooking an option? How do you eat?
