There was some research on type of carbs and body composition and it really doesn't matter, however, brown rice has better nutritional value. It doesn't matter that much, but I'd say white rice has better "nutritional value" just because brown rice has a lot of anti-nutrients that can block uptake of other nutrients and brown rice is at slightly higher risk of mycotoxin contamination because the fibrous hull isn't shucked prior to shipping, so any mold that grew on the rice while it sat in storage will leave its excrement all over the brown rice. Unless you really need fiber or something I think white rice is better, especially for people trying to gain weight because its higher glycemic index, has nothing to block absorption, and is less filling.

That coach told me that contradicts, since I have to eat more when I want to build up muscles and eat less when I want to lose weight (which kinda makes sense). Could that be reason why he gave me that weird workout plan? He also said that I have to do alot of cardio if I want to lose weight. What is your opinion about cardio? Is it really that necessary for a guy like me? (because lifting burns fat aswell right?) However seems like Im gonna have another chat with him the next time Iam at the gym. Like other people said, cardio is a very minor addition in a routine for losing weight. Diet and lifting are far more valuable. Cardio does help a little, although your body adapts quickly (a few weeks) and starts becoming more efficient with its energy sources, making cardio less valuable the more you do it. Cardio is good, however, for cardiovascular health and wellness.

If you want to lift and see gains, you have to regulate weight loss through diet though. Serious running is simply killing all your gains. If you want to run and lift at the same time, you cannot be in a caloric deficit... nothing good will ever happen. Nothing of this applies if you are a total genetic freak. But nearly nobody is. That's all I have to say from nearly 3 1/2 years of weight loss experience ![]()
