If you've got fat to spare and diet properly you can gain muscle(if not strength) and lose weight.
how reasonable is it to eat off wood instead of your tummy?

Good stuff!
I've been steadily working through mine and it's definitely worth.

What exactly is this "supple leopard" book? I have heard about it, but I've never heard about it's details.

It's mobilitywod's Kelly Starret's book. Has a lot of the principles he talks about in the videos but goes through a ton of movements in detail along with rehab/prevention/maintenance stuff.

@IgnE why is white rice better than brown? That seems convenient!

Brown rice is a complex carb (slower digesting). There was some research on type of carbs and body composition and it really doesn't matter, however, brown rice has better nutritional value.

It doesn't matter that much, but I'd say white rice has better "nutritional value" just because brown rice has a lot of anti-nutrients that can block uptake of other nutrients and brown rice is at slightly higher risk of mycotoxin contamination because the fibrous hull isn't shucked prior to shipping, so any mold that grew on the rice while it sat in storage will leave its excrement all over the brown rice. Unless you really need fiber or something I think white rice is better, especially for people trying to gain weight because its higher glycemic index, has nothing to block absorption, and is less filling.

So my workout plan doesnt get any love in here
As I already said, I want to lose weight (5kg) and build up muscles at the same time. That coach told me that contradicts, since I have to eat more when I want to build up muscles and eat less when I want to lose weight (which kinda makes sense). Could that be reason why he gave me that weird workout plan?

He also said that I have to do alot of cardio if I want to lose weight. What is your opinion about cardio? Is it really that necessary for a guy like me? (because lifting burns fat aswell right?)

However seems like Im gonna have another chat with him the next time Iam at the gym.

Like other people said, cardio is a very minor addition in a routine for losing weight. Diet and lifting are far more valuable. Cardio does help a little, although your body adapts quickly (a few weeks) and starts becoming more efficient with its energy sources, making cardio less valuable the more you do it. Cardio is good, however, for cardiovascular health and wellness.

running is great for your ankles (squat, deadlift, clean, row), general mobility, breathing, and good for your back and posture, and hips i guess. many gymgoers also play sports, so they get their cardio that way. decaf plays rugby for example. you should try running, its easy as pie if you do it frequently. get well-padded, low drop running shoes !

God bless cheeseburgers. 4 pieces are more than 1200 calories, though I'm aware I can't eat it every day.

I had 7 fully loaded hamburgers about a month ago. It was all you can eat (and drink beer...) and it has a bar full of toppings (veggies/cheeses/sauces/special things like fried eggs/bacon). I couldn't believe how full I was. I wonder how many calories I had that day...

Although I should note that only two of those burgers had buns. But then again I did have at least.... 6-7 beers.

And this is why the term "burger" is too ambiguous for the broscience we are conducting here. Units of mass only.

Running is fantastic for weight loss.

If you want to lift and see gains, you have to regulate weight loss through diet though. Serious running is simply killing all your gains.

If you want to run and lift at the same time, you cannot be in a caloric deficit... nothing good will ever happen.

Nothing of this applies if you are a total genetic freak. But nearly nobody is.

That's all I have to say from nearly 3 1/2 years of weight loss experience

learned to clean yesterday, god I was awful at begining. Worked my way up to 65kg after some coaching (makes a ton of difference to have someone who is very good at oly lifting correct you)

I need to work on (prolly with empty bar)

Not jumping backwards
not cleaning the bar away (pull close to the body)
learn to receive at bottom

Cant wait to do 100kg!
