Well after failing 500 squat twice last week I got so drunk this weekend that I was hungover til yesterday and then did two sessions yesterday (max fs doubles and then max Snatch and power clean). Come in today and CRUSHED 500. So easy I went for 510 and barely lost it.

I will never understand how my body works other than it runs on alcohol. Also, triple post ftw.

I have a cold/flu.

Whoever recommended high dosis of Vit D3 while sick is a fucking God and I love you forever.

I took a bunch of 1k UI pills.

Hope I feel better soonar.

I went to improve on my OHP pr from last week and got one rep. That was a tad frustrating.

What type of progression scheme are you going for on OHP? I switched to 5/3/1 back in August and it's been helping me (switch between OHP and push press every cycle)

I'm a fan of 5sets for OHP myself, which usually look something like 10/6/3/2/1, with the first being a fairly low weight.

Doing pendalay rows... I keep stalling at 125 lbs. I can get usually the first two sets to touch my sternum decently, but then I can usually only make 2-3 reps to touch my chest for the next 3 sets (doing SL 5x5). I can't make it further. I wonder if I should switch to dumbbell rows? It's quite perplexing and frustrating. Are rows really hard to progress on after a while, similar to OHP?

Or... should I try a more upright row? It seems they are "easier" but I hear pendalay works more muscles overall?

I've never been a fan of Pendlays myself, as my shoulders are too broad and my arms too long for the motion to make a lot of sense. I would definitely look into going with a more conventional row if for no other reason than changing things up.

Hmm thanks. I went to the gym today and did 135 2,2,2 so same total reps, I'm happy with that for now. The 3rd rep in sets 1 and 2 were 5 second battles at the sticking point so it was close. I think I did a better job warming up then last time which seems to have helped.

If you have not plateau'd with SS, then in the name of whatever you hold dear do not change it! Keep at it however long it yields you good results. Even after that you should consider working your way around it to make it work again, but at least go on until a plateau. You get immense gains with it, so dont change it yet if you have encountered no problems

i think rows take a while to "get started". if you have the mobility for them, continue doing them with decent form. lower the weight and increase sets and reps slightly. after a month you will grow enough muscle to be able to feel better about doing them correctly, utilising the correct muscles, and progress (decrease reps/sets as you see fit).

if its a problem of form/mobility (doesn't sound like it for you), then FUCK them and do lying face-down dumbell side raises instead

i ran 30 mins yesterday and 50 mins today (intense huge up hill at end)

my mom's cum sucking bf finally banned me from having my home gym at home (he likes everything neat and tidy - doesn't want my stuff on the drive even tho the drive is large enough for 6 cars, and god forbid anyone ever step an inch onto the garden grass). im fortunate enough to have a grandmother nearby so can leave it all in her shed, he is rubbing it in like "oh its only 15 minute run there, you can run there, have your workout and run back again, itll keep you fit ahahaha." COCKSUCKER its 40 min run and will cost like £35/month just to get a half-price bus home every time, not to mention back to being a 3-hour round trip (hourly busses), all because this shithead doesn't like other people on "His Territory". so much for the fucking "home" gym
