Those are the new ones. The white ones are OG baller status because a) they're awesome and b) discontinued. Could probably sell them for a few hundred on ebay lols.
You guys need to stop thinking about oly lifting and just join the dark side already
I'm 6'5 so the roof in my gym is not high enough for me to stand up with a barbell loaded with bumper plates; I'm like one inch too high GG.

The white ones are the Adistar, right? I know they did them before they did the power perfect II. True baller status though.
Yeah. Coach found a pair of 12's lying around, I had to buy them! (I now have 3 pairs of lifting shoes and 3 gyms...i have a problem)
Decaf, you don't have a problem. The only problem you have is not having copies of yourself to use every pair of the shoes in every one of those gyms. This is coming from the guy who has to use hockey tape to keep his Romaleo 2s from detaching at the sole.
Lol I've got a similar problem. Two gym memberships plus gym at school/work, and building a home gym. Lifting shoes, wrestling shoes for DL, running shoes for occasional HIIT stuff, and sambas for if I let my crossfit friends talk me into something stupid.
Of course, before lifting it was razer mouse, filco majestouch, pimpin multi-monitor setup, etc... It's always going to be something.

took 4-5 days off. Squatted up to 455lbs at lunch yesterday then snatched up to 130kg in the afternoon. Oh the DOMS...IT FEELS SO GOOD. p.s. lol @ running into girls i havent seen since high school(60 pounds of muscle ago) at the bar. They're so awestruck it's hilarious.
That reminds me of this video as well, both unbelievable and good narrow stance

But his knees track over his toes! and his elbows are down instead of up and back! He doesnt activate the hips by sitting back at all! Lol 90% of rip's lifters probably can't even walk out 330kg

Rip takes quite a beating in the WL community. SS is good if you want to get strong and put on weight but i disagree entirely with his teaching of the squat and powerclean and lack of emphasis on mobility/flexibility/coordination/etc. to create an athlete.

Isn't that just highbar vs lowbar? :p
Those are just the weird things you have to do to accomodate low bar back squatting which is IMO not a very natural movement. Anything that doesn't involve an upright posture to me just seems wrong. I feel high bar (and even front) squats are more strength builders while a low bar back squat is a way to express that strength. You'll see plenty of high bar back squatters than can crush heavier low bar back squats but almost none the other way around
Yeah really sucked when I realized that I slogged through 68 pages on the squat chapter of SS, tried to make it work for months, and then slowly piece by piece have been throwing away every cue I learned from the book.
The program is still excellent for a beginner's first few months though, which is exactly what it was intended for.
Yeah, Rip says multiple times that a lot of the advice in SS is meant to be safe and avoid common beginner mistakes rather than be the optimal way to lift for a powerlifting competition. For example, keeping your elbows back and up in the squat prevents holding up the bar with your hands, which is a very common tendency for people.
Interesting point about letting knees line up with toes at the bottom. Now that I think about it, whenever I intentionally try to keep my knees pushed out, I would always fail heavy squats. My knees would fall in line automatically if I don't think about it, presumably because that's where I generate the most power.

Yeah, but at the same time how many poor movement patterns have you "nurtured" from watching and mimicking other people using poor movement patterns. You could not think about it like a toddler doesn't think about the squat but then you're just ignoring how influential the people around you are
