Mourinho has been bumming Alex Ferguson ever since he left Inter, you just need to read the stuff he says about him. No doubt he wants the job and to be fair im not sure which manager wouldn't.
Moyes hasn't ever won anything notable and that's what you need at a top club. He's only ever been top 10 consistant not even top 4. A manager who has never won a league telling a team of champions to do stuff wouldn't go too well.
I honestly think Mourinho wants the job more than he would want to go back to being under Abramovich. The way the club operates would suit him much more and hell have a hardworking attacking team at his disposal.

Who says Ferguson behind the scenes wont be even worse than Abramovich?
EDIT: Give them Benitez <3

Well after reading lots of speculation and quotes from the past. Lets start with Mourinho's comments after the Man Utd game, during the tie and before it. Praises Man Utd as a club, says Sir Alex is the best manager, says he loves Manchester as a club and that he would like to manage their one day. He has said during the season about a big surprise that is coming.
Thats points at a big possibility that he might want to go to Man Utd, why wouldn't he.
Then he could give Roman the 2 finger salute and join Man Utd, stop his talks with Chelsea, take the safer route (and not a bad one) and join Man Utd.
The only doubt i have over it at the moment is, would Mourinho want to work with Fergie upstairs. Would Fergie want to work with Mourinho? Could they potentially clash and fall out. Then who would the club stick by...pretty obvious it would be Fergie.
I also think if Mourinho went to Man Utd...well then everyone is fucked...I think they will be so fucking strong it is untrue. Mourinho's European success mixed in with his domestic success he brings would make Man Utd even better under him than Fergie (imo)

You have to add into the equasion the amount of pull Sir Alex is going to have in Man Utd. David Moyes is his friend, their dads worked at the same company, they went to the same school (all be it years apart xD) and have been friends. I can see Fergie pointing them towards Moyes knowing he will still have control more so than if they had Mourinho. But, at this moment in time. It is a two horse race.
David Moyes Jose Mourinho
god no, stop it
Mourinho now odds on favourtie and Moyes out to 5/4...
DONT DO IT JOSE!!

Does this mean Howard Webb is also going to have to retire?
|
Mourinho to United, Rafa stays at Chelsea
|
But Ferguson will still work behind the scenes, right ? Can't see Mourinho accepting a job with someone above him. Plus Mourinho will stay at ManU during 2,3 years like he did with every other club. Solskjaer would be fantastic!

Sigh... come back to Chelsea please Mourinho T_T

I agree with most of what you've said but I don't think Sir Alex will interject much with whomever takes charge. I don't think any football club can work with someone constantly stepping in overlooking decisions. Isn't that why Mourinho left Chelsea in the first place? for example when Pep takes over Bayern, Jupp Heynckes will no longer be there and the club will be his to run as he likes.
Top clubs need top managers I don't think Moyes is one. This is Fergusons credentials while he was at Aberdeen,
Scottish Premier Division (3): 1979–80, 1983–84, 1984–85 Scottish Cup (4): 1981–82, 1982–83, 1983–84, 1985–86 Scottish League Cup (1): 1985–86 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup (1): 1982–83 UEFA Super Cup (1): 1983
Compare that to before Moyes took over at Everton.
Football League Second Division (1): 1999–2000 and Runner up in FA Cup whilst at Everton
That's the only reason I honestly don't think Moyes will take over.

there is no way mourinho is going to united. They know best than hire some manager for 3 years, its a long-term club

Gona be sad to have SAF not in the game.
Certainly the favourite is Jose Mourinho. Head and shoulders above all other competitors. Comes down to whether his heart is red or blue I guess :/

Oh man, Fergie was first in charge way before I was born. Hard to see a manchester united team without him. Wish him luck with whatever he does now.

I just doubt ManU (and SAF, who is very concerned about the long-term future of the club, if you read his statement) want him.

Steve Bruce for manager, would be epic

Not sure if David Moyes is right

Ferguson's achievements with Aberdeen are spectacular to say the least, but David Moyes has done a great job at Everton considering what he has had to work with. And he's Scottish.

No way. First of all he knows the loyalty Blues fans have for him. Second, the Chelsea squad is young and has some incredible young talents that can be built on with a striker added. Third, we probably have more resources with moneybags so he can do more. Fourth, London is a bigger city and just more epic than Manchester (although Manchester is great and has a big rep). Fifth, maybe Jose does have a blue heart, Porto instead of Benfica...and Inter Milan play with blue ...some people have a blue heart!

Nah, Mark Hughes would be a much better choice if you want a former United player
