Many of the things Zidane did were simply impossible for any other player to copy. Although I can see the argument that his highlight moves might not have happened every game. Not a great argument because Messi is on the team, it's hard to top the best player of all time ![]() Disregarding titles won, Iniesta trumps Zizou both at their peak (the kid is a magician with the ball) and specially on their "average" day. I'm not even that big of an Iniesta fan lol

I'm not even that big of an Iniesta fan lol distinction between greatest and best. at least to me, greatest implies being compared with your peers, whereas best is simply about how good you are. regarding zidane and iniesta, that leads to zidane being the greatest, because he was the best player of his generation, whereas iniesta is at best top 3 of the past 5 years.

I'm not even that big of an Iniesta fan lol It's not just Messi though. Xavi has been equally important to Iniesta, which goes for the national team as well. I also feel that Iniesta doesn't score enough. I know it's not his main purpose, but he gets plenty of scoring chances which he misses. I sound pretty negative now, but I just don't see him among the all time greats. ![]()

I'm not even that big of an Iniesta fan lol I would definitely rate Zidane over Iniesta (only a little). Also easier to judge individual players after they play on multiple teams. Seeing as Iniesta's are Barcelona and Barcelona (aka national team), just harder to go that extra step. Zidane owning at Juve and RM and the French team which was different in style...meh it is persuasive to me.

As a huge Zidane fan, I can't help but think I'd chose Andres over Zizou if I was a manager and could pick one player to join my team. Zidane was outstanding in 1,5 WCs and Euro2000, but from what I've seen (and that is alot of LaLiga) Iniesta is making magic almost every time he plays for Barca. E: Not saying Zidane was bad in the domestic competitions, but I've got the impression Iniesta is far more stable.

ManU, Barça and Munich have pretty much killed the competition. I sure hope to see those three in CL semi-finals, with Juve. Would be deadly.
