At last Mourinho have won Levante at their stadium with Real Madrid, at the four try. (They loosed two times and tied once the previous years, without any madrid goal).

They almost tie against, but Madrid scored in minute 84. Levante is a great team when they play in their stadium.

Yeah this international break, is actually POINTLESS. So stupid. FIFA/UEFA need to look at the organisation of these games and stop putting them at stupid times. You can understand qualifier games, but pointless friendlies should be put back until the end of the season.

Well I actually think it's nice to have these kind of friendlies. Only they should be used to give players a chance who would normally just sit on the bench or simply not be favored. Have the starters just call in sick if you don't want to play like the Germans did

Would also make for much more interesting matches, because there are plenty of players in every nation quite willing to play for their national team.

Yeah until they get injured and are out for 3-4 weeks and ruins there clubs league position due to a pointless friendly for their national team >.<

I love international football way more than club football but even I have to say friendlies are totally pointless.

Longer qualification rounds would make more sense than friendlies.

They aren't totally pointless in the current system though. The problem is that without friendlies a national squad can go half a year without playing together and it also leaves the national side with very little room to experiment. Just the overall level of play of international football is bad enough as it is and it certainly won't help without these friendlies. The system does need change though. That I agree with.

Also injuries are retarded, but I cannot help question the intelligence of a player who manages to get himself injured in just 45 minutes of football. (a maximum coaches can set for their players).

edit: And like Rebs said. We need to filter out the bad sides.

I dont know about you and no disrespect to San Marino but the majority of qualifcation games are a joke.

But in another sense Rebs, i'd much rather watch England vs San Marino than England vs Macedonia (the cut off i guess) for a side that will come put 10men behind the ball, defend for their lives and try and hit on the break (maybe if your lucky). Rather than a side like San Marino who will try that but just aren't as good due to not being full time players and the crowd and tv viewers seeing a lot of goals.

In the face of the international sides not playing enough if you get rid of friendlies, that is kind of true, but don't forget, since the end of the Euro's, European teams have played 5 times. In England's point of view we have played, vs Italy after we lost to them in Euro's in a "friendly" just a few days after the domestic season's started, then 4 qualifying games before the end of October. So that's 5 international games (4meaningful 1not) in the space of 2 months, that's a lot, and they want another "friendly" just before the busy Christmas footballing period (in England anyway).

Friendlies for internationals should be kept to after the season is finished, maybe add "mini tours" and play several teams in a week or 2 period to get younger players used to playing high level football in short periods like the world cup/euro's.

Also that way, football fans can continue to watch some sort of football during the close season, and not have to wait 8+ weeks after the domestic season's finish if there is no international tournaments. And international managers get a good amount of time with a group of players to ease their views on them and play their style. Win, Win all round in my head.

Of course that's my opinion, and what i would implement if i was Mr Blatter.

Well I can certainly get behind the idea of a "mini tour" at the end of the season. At least we can all agree that something needs to change, but unfortunately as with many of the necessary changes in Football the FIFA/UEFA will take their sweat time making them.
