but don't touch qualifiers. neutral fans might not care for expected blowout victories, but for the supporters of teams that never make the WC or EC, the qualifiers are really exciting.

His career has gone so much downhill since joining Real, I guess Madrid isn't really a good place to get it going again after an injury given the insane competitiveness of the squad. Even Dortmund wouldn't have use for him anymore, Gündogan is much better currently.

Look at Piszek, he was a Bench Warmer at Hertha BSC and now he is the best RB in the league.

Decided that I might as well try some betting, so I put 5 dollars into each of these; Panama-Spain more than 3 goals. Gabon-Portugal more than 3 goals. Saudi Arabia-Argentina more than 3 goals. What's the likelihood I'm going to get screwed over by these 'big' countries not scoring more than 3 goals against minnows? =[

![]() Did you have just more than 3 goals in the game? or for the big teams to win by more than 3? If you juave have 3 goals in the game, you should be ok. Minus Portugal, who without Ronaldo are woeful

(it's just over 3 goals in general) EDIT: Wow, they couldn't even score more than 3 against Azerbaijan at home. Should have done more research hahaha.

![]() Other games should be good for 3+ goals. Source - Ronaldo's Horrid Eye Injury The injury left him "temporarily" blinded, if you agree with reports.

I am not sure about it. While I like it that more countries would be used for stadiums and already given infrastructure will be used (nothing I hate more then expanding a stadium pre-Euro and then making it smaller again post-Euro) I do think it would kinda remove the spirit of home crowd advantage...

Its not a bad idea, for starters it means theres a diminished issue of the home team getting kicked out of the competition early. There will probably next to no infrastructure cost which is kinda double edged. Theres a fair bit of money to be made for the host. Now thats getting spread around everyone will make some and probably not have to use massive budgets. I dont know who needs how much (everyone does though) but I suppose to a degree its fair. Theres a number of other things but cba to put them down. The major concern though is that the can of worms that will get opened over the individual games and the venues. So alot of jostling within and between countries. Theres going to be a fair bit of politics and stepping on toes.

Yeah and with the designated player rule (while an awesome idea), we just end up getting past-their-prime stars who aren't good enough to play for top-level European clubs anymore. ![]() Don't get me wrong, it's great to see American players distinguishing themselves in the international scene, but I wish there was more reason to be excited about our domestic league. Well the US got a shot on goal, looks like they're getting over their nerves a bit finally.

Best players do play in the best leagues though? Many European nations could say the same thing about there leagues and were all there players play from in terms of domestic league vs nationality. That is natural in Football. Pumping money at things is only a quick fix, ala signing Beckham and co to LA Galaxy and hoping they do well, but to improve it properly you have to make more people aware of football and get football schools set up around the country and broaden peoples eyes. However i think America are trying this, like the 100000000000000000 tv channels you have, there is always football on one of the channels and it shows Chelsea nearly everytime they play which is great for streaming 3pm kick off games which aren't on tv, plus when i holiday in America i always watch. I think in 5-10 years it might be a different story in the US, and well, the national team aren't no mugs!

Soccer is actually extremely popular as a youth sport in the US, I think the problem is more that, with soccer not being as culturally relevant here, people who are gifted athletes will go into American football, basketball, or baseball, and I don't blame them, because that's where the money is. American sports don't have academies to develop players (soccer teams do though) and such as the European clubs do, because players are usually developed by playing for their respective high school and university teams, then drafted to clubs after graduation.

![]() ![]() I guess the most talented players if there was any would need to be scouted by the European clubs for them to get out and make the big $$s but im sure that would happen if they were that good. But i know the 3 big sports you just mentioned are pretty much stuffed into your face if your good at sports, and no one really mentions any other sport! Is there a champions league based cup competition for your federation btw? Ie CONCAF (your federation) should have a champions league competition set up? With the other countries that are involved in your world cup qualifying groups. Is there one, because that is another way to get the teams more "air" time as you will and more scouts looking at them. Specially with the world club championships now every year with the winners from each federation sent over to "x" country to play in a tournament to find out the world best team.
