I don't have a weight room nearby me So I just normally run 2 miles in 15-20 minutes or 3 miles with no time limit. I do tons of pushups, flutter kicks, crunches/situps and etc. I use to do Muay Thai practice so that was good working out sessions, but I quit after a while so now I just work out on my own.

I'm going to try and hit up the weight room and treadmills/running track more often now.

Goals: Lose my gut. Lose 20 lbs. I use to weigh 150 lbs until I met my wife for the first time. GOOD GAME!

* Basically right now I eat a lot of chicken breasts, wheat bread, fruits, peanuts, some greens (corn/lettuce and etc)

* I'm a start incorporating more protein whey in my diet, but I'm trying to save some money as well. I use to do protein whey diets a lot back in 2007.

* Another goal is to show my wife a six pack and instantly lose it because she will feed me to death.

turn her to the darkpaleo diet side. Its your only hope.

How important is center of gravity?
Today i front squat with 2 45's much easier than two days ago with 2 35's,5's, and 2.5's.
Does using less "width" on plates make lifts easier?

Yeah she's Korean. I will not be with her for about three months total so that's time for me to focus on my diet/exercise. Oh my God you don't know how many times she, her mom, or dad has tried to stuff my face. >,<

Guys , I've been having problems with my deadlift , seems like I can't even pull 140kg for reps with ease even though my PR squat is 180kg . Could anyone help with my form if i posted a video?

Better post a squat video aswell; chances are you're not going deep enough.

No, the center of gravity is always in the middle of the barbell assuming no weights have been sliding out. The force will still be exactly the same.

There's a ton of things which can make a lift easier than the previous session, sleep, food and water would be the more important ones.

There basically almost the same program, if you want to do Power Cleans do SS, if not do SL. It's as simple as that, both of them will give you tons of results as a beginner, just pick one, stick to it, and don't change it.

SL is 5x5 squats instead of 3x5, quite a big difference, right?

SL is 5x5 everything except deadlifts, until you stall at which point it drops to 3x5 and then to 1x5, then its time for an intermediate program.

SS takes considerably less time to do, which is why I swapped to it eventually. Other than that I don't think there's too much of a difference. If you prefer your current exercises (rows rather than cleans), then you can probably stick with those and just change it to 3x5.

surely there's some kind of consensus on if 5x5 squats from the very start yields better results than 3x5

Heavier weights on the outside will make the bar feel heavier.

Hey guys, I just have a question regarding Strong lifts. I've been doing it for a while and am at the point where I'm at 1X5 work sets. Does this still mean I should be doing 4 warm up sets, I have been. But was not sure how many reps to do on warm up, I've just been doing 4 sets of 5 rep warm up. Any clarification would be nice thanks.

Post what you do in an actual routine

Depends on if you're doing pyramidal/ramp sets or straight across sets.

SS is 3x5 straight across, SL5x5 is ramping/pyramidal for work sets

There's pros and cons of each....

Most intermediate level routines use 5x5 straight across FWIW.... like Bill Starr's 5x5. So right after you stop making linear gains, then 5x5 straight across may be needed.

Make sense?

is it wrong to ask someone if he's almost done with the squat rack when there are at least a couple of people waiting? I'm assuming they're waiting since they were sitting idly and had their eyes on the racks. i swear i must have an eye for telling if someone's almost done cuz no one asks. i've always felt like the biggest troll in the gym since i would do what i said above and spend 30-40min on the rack lolol, but is this necessarily an unaccepted behavior in the gym?

I would be pretty annoyed if someone did this. I don't know if it's especially unacceptable in the gym, but it's a pretty selfish thing to do in general (skipping the queue). At the very least I think you could ask the other guys if they are waiting for the squat racks or not.

speak up if someone does it, they might not be aware of a queue. if I'd see a bunch of idly people around a squat rack it would make sense to ask if there's a queue here and if it would be possible to squeeze in and squat taking turns.

it annoys me that when I'm occupying the squat rack for a long time and people don't have the balls to come and ask if I'm done soon implying that they'd like to do use it. odds are there's room for two people squatting and pressing together.
