The guys we have that SHOULD be playing center are all playing loose forward. Our pack scores as many tries as our backs do. Our Flyhalf has the second most points in the entire league though - transfer from England, hits a penalty kick from midfield like it's nothing. Our D1 side lost today, (45-43) and they're now 3-2. Solidly in the middle of the standings, but we haven't even played the two best teams yet (army and Iona). D3 side won, now 4-1. Not sure where they are in the standings. | ||

I ended up placing 3rd out of 3 in my weight class. The totals were 191, 153 and me 152. I gotta say, although I'm technically last place, bronze feels so good after having to fight for it. No big deal, bronze this time, silver the next and one day gold. + Show Spoiler + Hilariously bad form on both lifts, I swear it's much better in training =p Some things I learned from this competition: - If it doesn't start until the afternoon and runs into the evening, take some time to adapt by training at those times for at least a week ahead. - Warm up areas can be a disaster of a place for athletes. Bars may be so thick you can't hook grip, they may not spin, and there may not be collars around. I had a plate slide off one side as I caught a warm up snatch, thank goodness no one was hurt because of that. - A coach, handler or team of people as support will make life infinitely better. The competition was held quite far away from the warm up areas so you couldn't actually hear your name being called. To compensate for that, your handler was required to run back and forth from the competition platform to the warm up room to provide updates. Without a handler, that can be an absolute nightmare for a lifter. - Lastly, weightlifting is pretty much 99% preparation and 1% performance time. The 99% was painful, tedious and probably a bit frustrating. Have fun with the 1%, medals are great and aim for them, but don't let yourself or your coach make it the end of the world if you didn't place top 3. Now that that's over with, it's time to prepare for provincials. 6 weeks, here we go again~ Edit: added video links Edit 2: OH wow, how could I have forgotten to give my thanks to everyone for their support here. start all over again with the away half of the season this week. i probably wont need to travel, so i can focus on getting my squat over 300 and getting into oly lifts again, hell yeah. Trying to have not-embarrassing. competitive lifts by the time i graduate. Need to eat more if I'm going to make that sub 105 class though. | ||

c&j seems to need a lot of work. any tips? from the looks of it im not finishing the second pull nor am i fully extending. i find that when i try and fully extend i dont get under the bar fast enough. not really a fan of jerking as well so that probably looks horrible too. any advice on the snatch would be good as well thanks in advance. | ||
