Felt good to be back at gym. Witnessed more facepalm, ignored it.
Funniest thing is when I finished I ran into a couple people I knew there.
" I didn't think you'd be the type" And then they went back to their random oblique machine. This random guy comes back after and says "dont worry about it, I was like that before and now I do olly lifting" I dont know why he thought it would have upset me but whatever.
There is an olly lifting club here, may or may not go for the heck of it.

I feel like a retard doing incline bench press with a smith machine, but at least the shoulder isn't giving me shit
Could give dumbbells a go as well though…

Well, where injury is concerned, you'd feel more like a retard if you did permanent damage or put yourself off your training doing something you shouldn't have.
Assuming you know the difference between pain and potential for injury, you're golden.

Same... I like how I get to Flagstaff after they shut down the Center for High Altitude Training at NAU. Jokes.

=(
I just had a moment in arrogance occur
"hey mang, want to go to the gym?"
"No, I went yesterday"
"lol, lazy. you'll never get gains"

I just had a moment where I died inside a little bit, because next year I'm going to have to find a place to lift that is not my university gym. There are no USAW registered gyms in the area, the only gyms I know of around Syracuse are typical "no platforms, no dropping weights, no bumpers" that probably won't allow snatch/ c&J, and although there is one crossfit, I've seen their online schedule and it's extremely restrictive to people not preforming actual-crossfit-classes. Something like 3 hours/day iirc.
Wish I lived in NYC/San Francisco where it seems like weightlifting gyms are as common as starbucks =(. Someday I will build a home gym, but not for a few years at least.

on the plus side, met Kennigit at the gym and say hi lol Oh sup yo, Yeah ive been tracking my energy and cns recovery when i have less sleep/lack of proper food...it's pretty amazing what a loss in strength i found. Fucked my lower back up not warming up deadlift properly 2 weeks ago 340. Still recovering ~_~ What time do you normally go?
My times vary but I always go 3x/week. This week I'll probably go tues 5:30, thurs 4 and fri 12:30

Any pair will be sufficient. what does your program look like? thanks for the response! using pendlays beginner program as guidance but not really following it religiously lol. mostly just doing the snatching/cleaning and squating part of the program. any recommendations for a program, or should i just fully commit to pendlays program?
pendlays program is just guidance too. Post or pm me your whole program and I can adjust it a bit.

the fuck do you think you are telling people you can fix their prog...oh it's dimsum.
hi dim, <3 you.
went to the gym today;
still doing squat nemesis, it's such a fun program, and I'm stuck in 165kg-170kg maybe I need to do something else, I'm also doing Hanging Leg Raises and Dips and Overhead Presses on backsquat day.
Tomorrow hopefully I'll get to front squat some heavy stuff and do some good c&J. gogo me.

Funkie have you ever tried a texas method type progression for your squat? I know it's what pendlay uses for his lifters that need to get their squat up, and it's pretty well recommended everywhere else on the internet. As far as I remember you went right from SS advanced novice to this squat nemesis program. Just a thought.
Did ~35 snatches between 80 and 100 pounds today. Went 4/5 on the 100lb'ers. My PR is 115, but I haven't snatched in almost three months I think. By the end I felt like I was really pulling in the right direction (up and in) and they weren't getting out in front of me, which was cool. Also made good progress on finishing my second pull, which is my biggest problem I think. Still need to get under the bar faster too of course. Caught most of them AT parallel and squatted down instead of below it.
@Decaf yeah, I'm probably staying in Syracuse for at least a year after I graduate. Not going to grad school right away, there's places I can use my degree here, I don't want to move home but my sister and I can probably live together here, I already have some connections.... it just makes the most sense, at least until I go to grad school.
Plus if I magically gain 60 lbs and learn to hit I can play flanker for the men's team here. Fuck Yeah Syracuse Chargers.

Can you link me to it or pm the links for me? Thx

I think I'm finally sick, after battling stuffy nose and sore throat for three days.
Time to hit up some vita D and a good night's rest, and hopefully hit the gym tmw.

So much win, hot girl from high school starts dancing with me at a party in another town, whispers in my ear that there's nobody at her place... I ask whether she knows who she's talking to; she simply didn't recognise me. Win? Win. Got a gf though so I blueballed her, sup.
