Your bench goal looks reasonable at least. Oh, its not 1.5 x bodyweight, its 1.5x of what I can do now. Considering I've never done it, after some learning technique I guess I can do 1.2x/1.3x. Take a look in the Olympic weightlifting thread dimsum was kind enough to write up for us. Tons of good advice in there for starting off with and just learning some of the available theories to weightlifting. Will you have someone to teach you? If not, don't hesitate to try and get some videos for us to see and try to help you out with. The longer you wait, the more bad habits you'll develop and those are much harder to fix than they are to avoid all together. Thanks, I'll try to consult with coaches at gym.

What about taking the barbell from the squat rack, to the nearby bench, and doing forearm curls with it? Oh and there were 2-3 barbells not in use on the floor ten feet away.
-.- That's approximately the time I start throwing 20kg plates at people. Ultimate Frisbee as contact sport. I like it...
I embrace it. People trying to taky my fucking plates. I give them the "funko loco look".
The fuck you doing.

It helps work the muscles that are underdeveloped from lack of... other extracurricular activities...

iirc they were skinny ass nub guys and were doing other stuff like the rounded-back-floorgrab-into-swinging-barbell-curls. just seemed like they were making up their own exercises

That is called glute bridge
|
|
I've been hearing a lot of good stuff about barbell glute bridges. Mostly for lockout power and fixing muscle imbalances.
|
I started doing glute bridges because I think my glutes are underdeveloped and to correct imbalance for my SI joint. Hard to say yet but I think I'm seeing improvement.

IIRC he was also recently busted for HGH and other performance enhancers, so I would assume he cut back on those at the same time. Would mean he probably lost TONS of strength. It's cool though, he actually looks like an athlete now, instead of a ball, and he looks his age as well.

Welp, I thought I would be able to carry it out a bit longer, but It's just not feasible to continues while I'm staying at my parent's house for the summer. I'm happy to say that I'm officially done with my cut here are the stats: BW: 77->67kg BF %: 25%ish -> 12-13% Squat: 1x5 140kg -> 1-2-1 162.5kg BP: 1x3 87.5kg -> 3x1 102.5kg DL: 1x1 145kg -> 1x1 170kg Press: 1x3 60kg -> 2-2-3 65kg
I didn't quite reach the goal I set out for my bf %, but I'm sure that'll happen next time, provided I eat smart for the next few months.

Today at gym, this tiny guy asked if he could join us for squats (since all the squat racks were in use). I said it was fine, so he did a few warm-up sets with perfect atg low-bar squats, then joined me on 140kg where he did a few reps. After I finished, he added another plate to each side and did six easy reps on 180kg. I asked him what he squats normally, turns out he squatted 235kg, DL'd 240kg and benched 140kg in the previous powerlifting meet. He's in the 73kg weight category, so the squat is like 3.5x BW. Insane shit.

Oh God rugby practice. Scrum for a half hour. I'm supposed to squat 5x5 today, but there's no way in hell I'll be able to do it. I think I'll just go in and do the upper body part of the scheduled workout - Press, Push Press, and Dumbbell Rows.
The biking is really what's killing me though. Bike to work, bike home, change, bike to practice, have practice, bike home. Bike to the Gym, bike home. Plus I always seem to be running a little late to everything, so i'm going top speed the whole time. When I have to add class in there? All Dat Cardio.
