Trevor / Manifesto7 Age: 32 || Height: 5'10" || Weight: 91kg Starting Date: Sept 25 2011 || Goal Date: Dec 25 2011 Weight goals -- Trim to 80kg Training goals -- Complete 3 months of SS Nutrition goals -- Follow the IF diet
I'm not really starting anything today. I have been working at it of and on for this year. However, I find that sometimes I am better at typing out a plan then following through, so I wanted to actually do it before posting here.
January 1st this year I was 104kg. I got that down to about 96 by the summer through cycling and alcohol moderation. After coming back from Canada this summer, I began an IF diet given to me by a friend who does consulting. I have been following that for the past month and have seen pretty good results.
My initial workouts on my IF diet were squat / bench / deadlift, 3x10. Wanting something more, I read SS and this week I have started on that program. Following the advice of the SS wiki, I am starting with low weight, with a goal of being comfortable with doing the lifts before the weight gets too cumbersome.

Quick question: I do SS now on mo/wed/fri. Rugby is tue/fri practice, sunday game. Would I be better of doing SS on mo/wed/sat, or can I just lift on friday morning and own stuff friday night?

Well, doing extra activity on the side may not be conducive to gains...
But you can try that... I'm not sure you want to be liftng before a game though. I think M/W/F on that schedule with lifting before practice is better

@boubou, what position do you play? I can't imagine scrumming after squatting the day before, but maybe it's different playing as a back. Personally I lift sun/tue/thur right now, with practice mon-fri, games sat and sundays "off" for recovery. I usually miss one practices week though for my classes - most often Tuesday or Wednesday.

I usually lift M/W/F and practice Tue/weds/thurs with games on saturday. Monday is my heavy day -> practice on tuesday sucks. wednesday medium and its not too bad. Friday is a light day, 60-70% of max. Then again i'm doing oly training instead of an SS variant. Your current schedule isn't too bad, i dont really mind lifting then practice(as a back).
Oh and i might be on ESPN this saturday. we're playing ohio state in rugby on friday and they're bussing in a bunch of poor kids or some feel good publicity shit and doing a news bit on our game that they'll play during the mich state vs ohio state football game on saturday because one of the OSU football players is also (used to be?) an all-american rugby player.

wow wtf, failed on the last set of 72.5kgx3 power clean today and really hurt my wrist (i think better now already)
excuses: 1) bar slipped a little in the beginning 2) too little sleep and too much coffee this week

Chinups: 10-9-6 Front-Squat: 92kg x 3 x 5 Deadlift 132kg x 1 x 5
had to do them "Speed Deadlifts" because of power Outage and the gym was about to close. I should've yelled "FUCKAROUNDITIS NO MOREEEEE".
Oh well, there's always friday ;D.

Hey I'm actually writing up a oly program for a women's rugby player. I'm starting her light, but I was thinking I would keep the volume lighter since I don't want to wear her out. I was thinking I could keep the intensity a bit higher so she can still make progress.

idk if you're actually coaching her or just writing her a plan but it will probably vary a lot. Gotta account for getting banged up during games/practices and having enough recovery to be at 100% every saturday while still trying to make gains.
Sick deadlift video, doing reps w/ over 4x bw?? T_T

Friend pulled out of paragliding training this weekend. Will be much less fun and no one to take pics or videos.
But.
Of course I will still do it. NO FUCKAROUNDITIS. Can't wait to fly.

I weigh the same as him and yet he looks bigger then me for some reason. Damn though, I never ever thought that it was possible to deadlift that much at 130lbs, holy shit!

I bet he is pretty short.
