If I hadn't just decided to refocus my workouts on my squat (still not even 100kg) I'd be in.

Depends on what you want to do on your B1/B2 days. Errr, your PT should be able to figure that out if they were good. Did they palpate your back to find out if your vertebrae or ribs were stuck in any positions? What hurts with right and left rotation, side bending, and bending forwards and backwards? Pain is parallel to about the bottom edge of the scapula? Yes, it is. Maybe they aren't good >.> They did palpate it, but with the rods and scar tissue I would imagine it would be difficult. Bending to opposite side causes pain. Forwards causes pain. Backwards does not. Bending towards does not. It is parallel.

Only done ATG HBBS and front squats since then and havent maxed out. Kinda curious to see what i could do low bar with wraps and such.

1) They only do 1 rep of max. Was this just for brevity's sake, or do lifters generally do several smaller sets and 1 set of max? 2) Assuming I can even get my friends to go with me, I'm a lot bigger than my friends, when benching/incline etc, with my max, is it safe to have them spot as they couldn't lift as much as I could? The last time I did any weight training was a few years back for football, so I never had that problem. 3) If you go to the gym every day, is it best to do all your weight training one day and switch back and forth between cardio days and weight training, or is it better to do sections of weight training each day (Say, arms chest, mid one day then lower body the next)?

I recently watched the EG vods of iNc IdrA and Machine's benching, and was wondering a few things... 1) They only do 1 rep of max. Was this just for brevity's sake, or do lifters generally do several smaller sets and 1 set of max? If you're doing a workout that's specifically aimed at maxing out, you'll typically do a warmup, then just the single rep max out. If you hit it and think you can do more, you may even do one more at a higher weight, and on and on until you fail. Typically max attempts are not a common workout - usually they're at the end of a "cycle" for a high intermediate or an advanced lifter - someone who's been lifting for 2-3 years+. In Inc's case - he's on that kind of routine. Machine is borderline. Idra is just a case of "it's nice to know what I can do". Say I expect my max bench to be 205 lbs. I would go in, and do the following Bar x 10 reps x 2 sets 95 lb x 8 x 2 135 lb x 6 x 1 165 lb x 4 x 1 185 lb x 2 x 1 195 lb x 2 x 1 And then my max out attempt. If I hit it ezpz, I might try 210, or I might move on. The last time I did any weight training was a few years back for football, so I never had that problem. If you are being careful, then you assume that anything you fail, you're going to fail "barely" and as such, you'll be able to help the spotter get the bar back up. Also, if they're spotting you primarily for bench and using an overhand grip to do so, you can typically pull a lot more weight than you can bench, based on size. I wouldn't worry about it, unless you're looking at benching 300+ pounds to failure. What is recommended most in this thread, is a full body routine 3x/week, at least for people who are new to lifting or haven't lifted in a while. If that's the case, you'll be wiped after the lift, and will want to move the cardio to off days. If you're on a more advanced split (bodybuilding splits, upper/lower, push/pull, etc) where you are in the gym four or five times a week and going less intense overall on each day, you'll probably be able to get away with doing cardio on some of your lifting days. So in order to get healthy and fit I just go into a boxing course from my university where other people command me and tell me what to do. Its 3x a week with 2h of straight up training with no brake. Its unbelievably hard! Im not even able to go 3x a week because my muscles are ripped into shreds everytime I went there but you can see and feel the first results already. Last time I was there was on wednesday and my fingers are still hurting enough to make it impossible to play sc2 LOL.
