Also, I'm married now! Great two weeks. yo I totally agree with you. I play(ed) golf rather seriously, and my motto for the last few years has been, "I'd rather look pretty while playing than be actually good (lol)." Also congrats on tying the knot!! I'm trying to work on my core and lower back (remnants of love handles), and my personal trainer buddy highly recommended that I start doing "planks" and side planks, on top of my usual 120 situps/work out. I've started doing them, and I'm getting great results, which leads me to believe my arsenal of abs and core workouts is less than it should be. Anyone have any other techniques that would hit this target area? as mentioned before (like a gazillion times), situps are mostly a waste of time (especially for losing weight or love handles). is there a reason you cant do compound lifts (squats/deadlifts)? it will work your core way more than situps ever will. and what does the rest of your workout look like? remember: six packs are made in the kitchen! planks are pretty good though. L-sits and leg raises too

Well since I've added core workouts into my rotation they've been steadily decreasing, they're nearly completely gone now! I don't know, maybe I'm just eating less, but I'm pretty happy about it regardless!

Anyone have any other techniques that would hit this target area? Sigh. If you absolutely have to do abs exercises they should be after fixing your diet and lifting heavy weights like during squats/deadlifts/etc. Good abs exercises would be exercises that are HARD to do just like heavy compound lifts. these would include: L-sits, leg raises (hanging or arm supported), windshield wipers, sprinting (surprisingly effective), planks are ok.... weighted if you can do them. I'd stay away from situps in general. Also, correlation is not causation. Again, nutrition and compounds are more important for losing fat weight than abs exercises are. There is a such thing as doing too much, but you didn't describe your workouts so I can't actually tell if you're doing too much. Also, scale does not mean much because your body can be adding muscle and losing fat and your weight stays the same. The mirror and how your clothes fit is a much better representation of improving body composition in general. If anything, lift heavy weights and cut out running. Also, you probably need to eat more protein as well

How to get more protein? should i try buying protein supplements? about the mirror, i havent noticed ANY difference between me at 103 and now lol, but seems like i am able to fit into smaller pants.
