You might want to keep your back flatter though (but form on max effort lifts is less of an issue for me )

What's good? I usually eat oats and and beans if I can. I realize that's not ideal either. I've heard some veggies like alfalfa or any other type of bean sprout is awesome. As well as sweet potatoes. But I've always kinda steered clear of sweet potatoes because 1) I'd always imagined that they are similar to actual potatoes which I don't want to eat and 2) I never really liked them anyway.

done 5x4 65kg squats and will repeat this next session coz im not happy with my form got too enthusiastic with bench and chucked on +5kg only to drop it on 5th rep and almost kill myself. but a sympathetic (or should i say worried) guy said he would spot for me so i went 5x50, 5x52.5, 4x52.5 after that. phew!! almost messed up bigtime - in the future i will warm up better and never ever ever try to load +5kg because its too unpredictable - 4th rep you are fine then suddenly your arm gives way and you make a fool of yourself

Citing her teachers and an article, linky, I am currently 0-1 down in a battle I don't really want to lose. I didn't find any studies to disprove it so I'm hoping you could shed some light on it ![]()

If anyone's ever been to the starting strength forums, he'll bust out alot of similar phrases. Always great to see him talk trash about questions that are answered in the book ![]() Also, I leave my dna on the barbell.

Starchy tubers like sweet potatoes or yucca root (available in Latin markets and many regular grocery stores if you live in a city with a large hispanic population) are probably your best bet. Beans contain a lot of anti-nutrients and as such are not ideal. I also like squash; you can find frozen bricks of it in the frozen vegetable aisle, but it tends to be a bit expensive relative to sweet potatoes. You really don't need that many carbs.

Killed a 235 lb deadlift. Had a video but its a crappy front angle so Idunno if yall wanna see it. 105 x 5, 105 x 2, then 95 for the rest on OH press. I've plateaued here. 105 isn't bad when I could barely do the bar for 15 reps not too long ago. 15 min elliptical, 20 minute bike for cardio. Killed a speech (Started to shake, stopped myself and it was smooth sailing from there) Likeaboss.gif

Fruits and vegetables are pretty much all carbs Sweet potatoes are awesome by the way..... so you need to like them :p

As far as carbs I don't eat a lot of "traditional" macro carbs like grains in pastas, bread or whatever. But sometimes the convenience of those items wins out and I wind up eating a bowl of cereal or piece of bread every now and then. Either way the grains problem is one that I've wanted to address for a while, since it's becoming apparent to me through extensive trial that I probably have a slight gluten irritation. (don't we all according to paleo?) Anyway I've eliminated mostly all grains except for brown rice and oats with certain meals and no more than once daily. I've been eating a paleo-ish diet for a while now although I hadn't come across the actual diet or literature on it until fairly recently. All I know is that through a process of trial and error a diet similar to what could be described as "paleo" was making me feel the best. Though I remain fairly ignorant on the topic as a whole.
