nonono we want to see other types of team shirts and jackets! please show us your work! you never know how much we might like it!
imo, i dont want a shirt to be too plain, but it shouldnt be all flowery and rainbow colored. it should have a professional BW team look imo. the fabric is important as well.

im not good at Gimp, but this is the best i could do. for the jacket, its the same as the shirt, but in jacket form change white to black please (again, i suck at Gimp.) (if images dont work, the link is here.

You obviously have a creative flare, and a knowledge of design. Trust yourself, put up a design (if thats what you were planning on doing) and basically people will vote on it. I wouldn't worry too much about how specific you want to get. My taste and the communities taste are very different, so you may end up doing a design that i personally like and might print as well. The winner of course will be printed etc, but if i found something to be good, sometimes its too hard to pass up. IF you get my drift.

ye think in the end its all about tastes i like the simple but ye fashionable/sexy styles more than the more flashy stuff cause i think its more modern.. i really dont like ogs shirts if you talking about those with blue fading they look pretty outdated to me dunno.. but then some people likes them so i guess people shouldnt discuss the tastes of other people :p
enigma show your design im sure at least some people will like it and maybe you can even get most of the people to like it

I think this is the best shirt so far. At first I liked Gizmo`s but then I realized it is a bit plain and doesn`t really stand out as a team jersey. I understand where he is coming from though because his is more conservative as in what people would actually wear.
Gizmo has the best jacket though, assuming FXO could find a supplier for that kind of collar and such.

I'll probably end up doing something which has several levels of complexity and see how it goes down, so it should appeal to a range of people I guess.
I know you said that templates were up to us to find, and when it comes to T-shirts and trousers, I think most templates are going to be fine so no problems there. I do think for the jacket though, you need to direct us towards a template of sorts simply because of the huge range of styles that exist. Just knowing the collar, cuffs and whether it has a zip are fairly important.
Hopefully this will be possible. If not we can all use Gizmo's template because that jacket does look very warm and cosy!
EDIT: @Gizmo that old Holland jersey is pretty awesome!

ye you are right about the jacket if it had no zip i would put the logo horizontaly and not verticaly

I think what people like is gizmo's coat design. And I also think most of it has to do with the template. The back design is simple and clean and works actually. I really like it. But I don't think finding a coat that matches that design will be easy. The material I would like to see in the coat is soft cotton and not thin cotton, pretty thick and comfortable. It can easily degrade over time, but its comfortable right?
Either that or its a jacket with nylon which also works I guess. It's just not soft and tend to be more rugged and won't fit the body well. It won't look the same with nylon.
When designing a shirt, I want it to be ostentatious but also professional.
A plain black t-shirt with some letters won't do at all. When looking from afar, people won't know you're some random guy or a freakin badass FXO member.
I put color into consideration, finding a theme with some decent contrast. The new OGS shirts are very nice and gets the job done nicely. I'd like the new FXO kit to be as good. These t-shirts are to advertise your brand and if people can't recognize you're from FXO, then it would be meaningless to put all those logos on it. You need to attract attention with the shirts while staying professional.
I chose black/blue/orange. light blue and orange are good compliments and the black is to keep the design together and professional. Most of the lines are straight for this reason also.

The holland shirts were all pretty plain orange + logo before that 'old holland jersey' shirt you posted. It was just a break from the line of plain orange shirts that holland always uses. Sorry if this is a little bit offtopic .

lol dont worry man i love holland jerseys i favourite colour is orange xD
and about what other people are saying i dont really think light blue fits FXOpen style :s i took a look at their website and their drift cars etc to get inspiration for my stuff :X

I don't consider gizmo's designs boring, they're easily my favourites so far, looks really professional and nice! Great stuff.
I'm not really a fan of orange/black in general though. Like the poster below me says, wouldn't mind seeing some designs in other colours Like Manchester united always has alternate jerseys in different colours, would be pretty cool!
|
There are no constrains, therefor you may do whatever you want to do Because of the old style FXO shirts everybody tries to stay close to the colours, but that doesn't mean that other colours are bad. More diversity creates more innovation in the designs

Omfg I'm so hyped up to see the topic with all the pictures side by side to choose one! there are so many and honestly I couldn't choose a favorite if I'm not seeing them all together to make an objective opinion.

My current jacket design is a black snow jacket, with the FXO logo on the back, embroided, and razer logo on the shoulder. ITs plain simple and it looks very nice. I wouldn't really over complicate a jacket unless it was a tracksuit top. Then its worth designing something more creative.
