I'm no expert but how is patron warrior any different then the druid trents/savage roar decks? I get patron has more potential dmg but it requires more setup then the druid thing. maybe grim patron should be a 2/2 or something, I dunno.
It wasn't nerfed but buffed. Prior to BRM it would only give charge to stuff played from the hand, so the Grim Patron's effect wouldn't grant charge to the newly spawned ones. And the Druid combo does 22 damage for 9 mana if you get a round a Emperor on Force of Nature and both Roars (+ attack+4 of each minion already on board but we assume empty board), while being very vulnerable to taunts. If you sacrifice a Patron on a Taunt minion while having 2 Frothing Berserkers out, you lose 3 face damage from the Patron but 4 between the 2 Berserkers, meaning the opponent still having minions up after your inner rages and whirlwind can be beneficial even if they'll kill the attacking Patrons.
Yeah that was how the warrior did it to me. Used Patrons to attack my minions and ended up with a Berserker with over 30 attack or some stupid fucking shit.

Patron punishes you for playing minions but at the same time the best way to beat a patron is to pressure him with minions. It's the same situation that happened with the old buzzard unleash but this combo not only has insane damage but also the insane draw that that combo hard. Druid combo on the other hand doesn't do that much with an empty board and doesn't interact with your board so gaining board control and pressuring a druid is a perfectly viable strat. Personally think HS has devolved into a game of combos since almost every deck is designed to kill from 10-18 health.
So essentially vs patron that has gotten one turn of emp off you cannot play a board for fear of dying but you can't just do nothing because you'll die. You have to gamble that his emp didn't hit everything he needed which is completely out of your control and with patrons massive draw engine a good one will almost always get a good emp off.
yeah, the idea vs patron is: pressure him as hard as you can so he cant draw cards as efficiently as he'd want to before he can play his combo once he has enough mana (and/or played thaurissan) you wanna either play it really slow, if you have like 1 minion on board you should usually be safe from getting 30 to 0'd OR you can just go allin and hope he doesn't have the combo if you think you'd lose the long game anyway but it's easily one of the best decks around atm and doesn't really have any bad matchups so yeah winning is always gonna be hard.
Yes and no. It's very draw dependent. Handlock can deal with a full board of patrons but at the same time if you have 2 taunts with some minions he can just instagib you with a good emp. Really that's the deal with every Patron "counter". Sure they can beat patron but almost no deck can deal with a perfect or near perfect emp drop. That's what makes the deck so good. Lots of draw, tons of power and a win condition that can blow through any counters.
Yeah. Theres a reason why patron warrior has one of the best decks to get to legend with now for what feels like months. Theres also a reason why you saw Harrison so much for a period of time and it wasnt for them aggro pallies lol.

Just now? Wow
I know it's Friday but I get overwhelmed by all the new music people link in here and elsewhere and have a hard time trying to find stuff. Reddit has threads of under-appreciated music every so often and this song---I'm going to be listening to this one often.

Emp is just such a dumb card honestly. I don't know why it's in the game.

Just beat Divinity Original Sin. Jesus christ, such an great game. Surprised non of my friends have heard/already played it. Thinking of picking up Shadowrun:Hong Kong as another RPG to play now.
If you liked D:OS you should like the Shadowrun games or the Infinity engine games for that matter. Baldur's Gate 2 should be right up your alley.
I was so super hyped when they announced that game. Swen, from Larian studios, called it a fusion of Ultima 7 game world and Fallout 1-2 combat. So I backed it and played it through beta, but the game just didn't live up to the hype for me. The combat was Fallout-like, but the gameworld wasn't even close to Ultima 7. I hope the enhanced edition adds a speed up option to combat and proper day/night and NPC scheduling. Then I'd give it another try.
I'm confused, are you talking about Shadowrun HK or DOS here?
Larian studios is the company that made D:OS. Swen Vincke is the snake oil salesman CEO who sold me on D:OS. They're doing an enhanced edition for consoles and it'll be given away for free to anyone who currently owns DOS for PC.
