Overall, I would recommend it. There's a lot of story time to exemplify and support points which is to be expected from a practicing psychiatrist. Even if you are religious or are not I think you might find the perspective presented interesting. I will say that one of the chapters blew my mind and I've been thinking and talking to people about it since. I actually teared up reading it... sheesh. #juicydadmoments #ithink? I admit I've read only the chapter Buddha, Jesus and Preparing Your Brain for Eternity, but he seems to write moreso about the possible detriments of eastern style meditation rather than about the possible benefits. What is the chapter that blew my mind? I probably wouldn't want to read the book for 4 hours but I'm interested in what chapter interested you so. Actually the book looks really interesting, I'll stream myself reading it out loud until we collectively get bored! http://www.twitch.tv/scipaeus

It jumped into the boring meat of its content a little too fast, and didn't do a whole lot to grab the typical 3k MMR reader. Also, I think the Storm vs SF+Sven+Troll example was pretty poorly constructed, but that's a relatively minor nitpick.

Still, I was just told that an amatuer team for the guild I'm part of is starting up after TI, so I do kinda want to get to ~3.5-3.8k by then, which shouldn't be hard, I just need to actually game and not go full Comeh/Shaella. Or I could just Artour Babvesvsky it and just naga every game, but I'm pretty sure that would kill me from boredom.

I think while Dash's approach is valid and should be taken into account, most people would just rather understand something simple like "if you farm more you will get better, here's how you do it". I think that would also resonate with a lot more people, especially since it's easier to boil down to simple examples that the average player can practice from game to game and see visible improvement at. This is the way for a player who's already incredibly good to win games. It's not a good way for a player who's not good at the game to try and get better.
