Req, if I ever visit Chicago I want to play Warhammer with you. I don't think I've played it in 15 years.

![]() The atmosphere was great (even better when we got our drums back! grr) and hockey fans are awesome as an avid football goer not seeing a single fight or signs of it about to break out in any of the games I went to despite fans being mixed on the stands was great. A pair of siblings being put on the kiss cam was hilarious and God bless the big bald guy kissing the brother to put a stop to the awkwardness. Indoor is an incredible pace compared to beach, especially beach 2's which is obviously the competition of choice although there are official rulesets from USAV and FIVB for trips and quads.

Just in general I would recommend women's volleyball. Imo it is one of the very few sports where the women's version is more interesting to watch than the men's, mostly because of the much longer rallies. Also prefer indoors. Also female volleyball players are often super hot, my kind of women really. :D

Is very much a work in process (I have 40,000 pictures to go through) but I'm done with Singapore and Brunei, working on Australia now. My Singapore pics kinda awful though, got lots of haze. Singapore: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmkDYQXD Brunei: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmc1vURW Australia (work in progress) https://flic.kr/s/aHsmkQfJSR Would love comments on pics, and if people are still interested in this sort of thing I'll post more as I do it. Shits gonna take months to get through though.

One thing I enjoyed watching a bit of indoor was all the cool setplays I learned from anime haha. All these cool connecting movements. Seemed to be more about individual power than these cool teamwork moments. Not sure if that's just coz I'm a noob.

Ya there's no set plays in beach, and just by nature of it being 2v2 it is generally about just being the better pair of players, since even if a team is generally a blocker and a defensive player both need to have an all-around skill set and it will be taxed every game. If you can't pass you're getting served off the court. Can't hit and you're taking every serve. Can't set your partner is taking every serve. Can't play defense, they're going to start setting off the net to neutralize your block and force you to play off and pressure you. As for rallies I think the biggest factor here is that serves are FAR more aggressive in indoor, which leads to more out of system offense immediately from the get go, which leads to less good attacks. Throw in double and triple blocks and you have more attacks that are defensible. I still would think the men's game ends on first attack/block net encounter on like 70%+ of plays though, and of that remaining amount the play probably ends on the following attack like 20% of the time. That last 10% is when you have attacks that are good enough to get out of system offenses going on both sides but not get kills, which is when you can have some ridiculous minute long points. That stuff RARELY happens on beach, because after pass/set/hit, dig/set/hit, unless it's some great digs on good attacks, the play going on that long probably means someone is crazy out of position and an option ball to the net is an easy kill(or a set for an easy kill as the defense sprinted to cover what you were setting up with your option, leaving tons of sand open on what is probably a late block).

Well along with gaming. https://www.youtube.com/user/videoFIVB/featured The FIVB Volleyball channel on youtube started live streaming events starting with the Men's Club Championships last winter, and moving into beach events this season, and they archive them all on their channel. If you know what event you're looking for you can find tons of past Olympic, World League, and various countries' leagues like PlusLiga SuperLiga and Super League(top Russian league and considered the most prestigious volleyball outside of international competition, probably equivalent to La Liga in football).
