It's super easy to get sucked into "one more turn" syndrome. I haven't played it a ton, but I'm pretty sure Civ 5 (+ expansions?) is widely regarded as the best.

You think they would have figured it out ages ago when pretty much anyone's top 5 draft formats of all time are 3x big set and everyone always considers full block drafts to be a downgrade. While this is true in the majority of cases and for the majority of people, I was thinking back to the last few sets... Ogw-bfz was better than triple BFZ, and emn-soi was better than triple SOI. I also personally liked aer better than triple kld. There was something to having that smaller set present and I'm worried I'm going to miss it a little bit, even though I'm not 100% sure what it is I'd be missing.

overall its probably gonna make better drafts, or if it sucks at least you can leave the shit behind instead of praying the small set fixes things (when it prob doesnt) i just want the cores to draft well and we're cool, but im dubious. but maybe draft special sets will coincide with them, i'd take a conspiracy-like set, just with 1v1 matches instead of edh plz

Only using as many sets for a world as needed is going to annoy the story fans when a cliffhanger happens and instead of waiting a month for the follow-up there's a core set in the way. ![]() It'll probably feel weird because I've been used to half the formats letting me use some of the experience from the previous one not to start from 0 and get punished less. Having a big set to process every time is going to take more effort/involvement. Losing the masterpieces is a bigger deal for constructed because they were driving the prices down, couldn't complain about that. Plus bigger sets could dilute the Standard cards unless the archetypes get diversified enough that more are played, and not the same in all decks. Dunno what to think about core sets since I started right after the "last" one. They have simpler mechanics, less flavour so they're more straightforward for beginners, right? I guess if they end up less interesting to draft that just means I'll dump less time (and money) into it from time to time. Which is convenient 'cause I lost my job again. They won't keep me after the trial period, due to my lateness and lack of autonomy. The latter has nothing to do with the issues I ran into 2 months ago, and my boss told me it was their mistake, especially not having recruited me for a project lead position, to put me there without more experience. He did say that with ~5 years of experience more autonomy was expected, especially for a start-up that can't afford to spend too much time for someone, and on my current project that's what the guy above me said. There are things to learn here, especially since I was making an effort to ask questions/help more quickly after how I dug a hole when I was lead and didn't dare show I was out of my depth. Middle ground to hit and all that. As for the lateness though... I'd started off well, but then drifted back to old (bad) habits, and the whole "be there at 2 PM at the latest, so leave at 1:45 max" slowly becoming "start thinking about getting ready when the clock's almost at 45." Turns out for all the thinking I did about being aware of what others think/deem important and adjusting my priorities, after seeing a psychoogist and my break-up, no progress at all was made in the long run. Looks like I'll need to treat myself as a child and set up punishments for misbehaving to force it upon myself. Went all folk for music monday.

Opinions are more mixed on BFZx3 but that's mostly because a lot of people really dislike BFZx3--personally I liked BFZx3 more. Not sure where you get your prevailing opinion from but at the very least if you look at the current reddit thread about it, most people's options seem to be closer to mine, although I can also agree where a lot of people said simple 3xogw or 3xemn would have been even better than their draft environments. That in itself actually makes me feel better about the new model.

If you want some chill games, I recommend you check out some board games. Boardgamearena.com has a decent amount of board games avaliable and pretty good UI.
