Also, I'm abnormally peeved by this pub quiz I just did where they asked the question what type of animal is Rafiki from the lion king and my zoologist gf says he's a mandrill and then the answer is baboon which is WRONG WRONG WRONG. MANDRILLS ARE NOT BABOONS. RAFIKI IS A MANDRILL AND WE WERE ROBBED. MANDRILLS WERE CLASSIFIED AS BABOONS A VERY VERY LONG TIME AGO BUT THEY NO LONGER SHARE THE SAME GENUS. PLZ QUIZ PLZZZZZZZZZZZ. The point meant nothing though we were still 3rd regardless.

Not sure why, but pretty much everyone I knew growing up in london never had trouble with any american/scottish/indian/whatever accents, while people who speak with any of those tend to have trouble understanding others.

I hear the dub is pretty solid on this one. I watched it subbed and thought it was really solid. The theatre I went to was like 90% empty so I sat all the way in the back and the subtitles were large enough for it to be readable without me having to look away from the center of the screen. I also think there are a few scenes where having a dub wouldn't really make sense given the context.

Just got home, imma fire the LRR pre-prerelease out of curiosity. -1/-1 counters don't seem that prevalent, I think there are actually more cards putting them on your own creatures (in Green) than on your opponents' (in Black). Weird. Also Exert looks kinda bad at first glance because since the effect is usually worse than attacking twice and you leave yourself open, it's terrible in a race (until the bonus actually gives you lethal so there's no downside), or you'd only use it against slower decks if you can't get through and you're trying to make them give up cards. On the other hand, it plays pretty with tricks, which G has in abundance. -1/-1 counters do a good job of counteracting the bonus and turning the creatures into normal ones. With embalm you don't really get a 2-for-1 on your exerted creatures if your opponent doesn't take the big hit. TL;DR it looks weird, and there's a bunch of moving pieces. The mechanics themselves don't have me excited but the puzzle of figuring out how they fit wrt each other is an interesting one (certainly harder to figure out than Kaladesh's "just attack"). That's too bad about Duelyst, I liked the concept and though I don't play I watched it a bit on youtube from time to time. I've actually had quite some fun with the new Miracle rogue (with a name back its roots—literally) in HS, and that dumb tempo Priest (watching Jackiechan play it makes me want to craft Lyra... but it's probably his infectious enthusiasm).

I'm really hoping to get back into that game when the mobile version is released so... :/ Well don't let me be too much of a debbie downer, evidently there's a bunch of people happily playing it's just that there's a lot of salty streamers and redditors and I'm one of them. I've actually been having more fun in standard hearthstone than I expected, mostly with a red mana wyrm giants miracle variant (I wanted reasons to run razorpetal volley). It's probably not top tier but watching red mana wyrms turn preps, coins, and petals into face damage is pretty dang satisfying. Also, even though the warlock quest is terrible I love the bad handlock deck I made to trigger it just with deathwing. I'd play it with Jaraxxus if I could, just for the one game where I get both off.

For the Rogue quest I went off of Elise's list, which runs arcane giants, Sherazin and Edwin as wincons. After the Pillager's rotation I didn't expect to be able to combo the epic "kill a minion" creatures so easily, though. Already killed that 5/5 Taunt Adapt for 6 on my own turn 6 (Hallucinate -> plant) and a t4 Jade Behemoth (counterfeit coin -> plant, after the druid used both innervates and a ramp spell for that), it feels pretty dirty. I didn't expect Sherazin to be so easy to reawaken, and it's a good clock considering you're often clearing the board to fulfill the condition anyway. Red Mana Wyrms without Conceal look to much like removal magnets to me, I know people had some success with less-optimal miracle lists during MSG though.

I was unimpressed with Sherazin before release but was surprised at the success people had with it. Haven't opened it though and I am not sure whether I want to craft it yet. Obviously not bad at this point, and seems like it has fun aspects too with n'zoth and/or shadowcaster.

https://disguisedtoast.com/decklists/2357-maniacoaks-legend-discard-zoo-warlock Patches feels a bit awkward, tbh, and Forbidden Ritual hasn't really been that useful. Not sure what I'd switch out for those two and the Bloodsail Corsairs though

Patches' just there to reduce the amount of cards in your deck and it's a free ping, the problem's more that you only run 2 other pirates and not 4-5 like other packages usually do.
