I just don't find that stuff enjoyable.
Adam West's Batman isn't "so bad it's good", it's just something entirely different from the animated series. It's goofy, over the top, fun, and sometimes a little pretentious. It's a child of the era and the source material it drew from.
The animated series was made in a different era, and effectively drew from different source material. In many senses the fact that both are labeled "Batman" is almost a misnomer.

I could never get into Star Trek, everything felt super old to me - something that Star Wars didn't run into.

Late in catching up, but Duvon's MM was pretty dope. And I can't remember how the first instrument we hear's called. I should really learn how to distinguish brass instruments. And so many other things.

Aren't the "Southerners" in Walking Dead basically Brits?
IDK, haven't watched since like S3, but I know for sure Rick and Maggie are British.

I think the only time I remember being shocked by an American doing a British accent was James marsters as spike. Couldn't believe that dude was murrican

Because the USA's soft power is insane. People in the anglospehere here American accents constantly throughout their lives. Meanwhile, we generally only hear foreign accents in one off characters that may be stereotypes or is we go out of our way to do it(like watching Doctor Who.)

it's conductive to a brit actor's career to be able to be a pretend american. usa actors get no appreciable career boost from being able to pretend to be british, so they don't bother learning it.

Movies generally have a neutral american accent instead of the hyper weird ones though. Plenty of times you see brits kind of fail at doing the harsher american accents(Dr. Strange, Xmen etc.). I wonder how much of it is the editing/production staff over the actors ability. At least that's my current trend of thought revolving around movie acting lately.
Really only need to know how to be posh British when playing a movie villain and there're enough good Brit actors that you can just cast one of them instead lol

Usually I'd agree... but have you watched Mike Tyson's cartoon?
That one really does take the cake for so bad it's good.

Ugh I hate this whole haggling price thing.
We made a townhome offer last night and the guy wants quite a bit more than what we put down. But we looked at what's sold recently in the subdivision and for the price he's asking, the same model sold with granite countertops/updated appliances including heater, or for the same price someone else got the same model but with a fully finished basement (which ours wouldn't have). Our offer is pretty generous considering what he's working with.

Sounds like you did your research, don't sweat other people being dumb. IIRC you're in a position to walk away so no harm there if he continues to be unreasonable.
|
It's a game.
If you think X is fair you have to offer 0.9X or buddy will think he can push you to X/0.9.
It's the same when you sell things. It's annoying imo. It's shitty on houses though because you want your offer to beat out the other 2 or 3 offers.
He probably doesn't even think the offer isn't fair he just thinks based on your offer you'll go up yet.

Yeah I know it is what it is, just annoying. Given that we may have to replace the HVAC while living there and will probably want to redo the kitchen, I think they're just asking a lot for what we'd be getting. Makes me worried about what we'll get when we sell it.
Being an adult sucks.

Definitely.
I hate playing the gane but it's actually worse if you don't unfortunately.
I learn that every time I go to sell something. Its frustrating. Lol.
Why you think you need to do the HVAC?

I spent way more time than I should have had to trying to figure out what my health insurance plan currently is only to realize that vision insurance is completely separate info.
Shit's way too complicated.

Why you think you need to do the HVAC? It's the original, so 15 years old. Not too bad, but considering the other ones had replaced it in the last ~3 years before they sold, it feels silly that we would pay the same price for less space and older appliances.

Shit's way too complicated. The most annoying part of it all is just the time it takes. I don't mind doing this home shopping, or doing insurance stuff, or going to work, I just miss having time for myself. Preaching to the choir, I know, but I just always thought I'd be able to manage it better and still have more personal relaxation time.

I was just talking with my wife about how I feel like I have a second job as a project manager for life-stuff. I mean you can ignore it or wing it but that usually ends up costing you more time and money in the long run. I try to set reminders for upkeep stuff through out the year because its impossible to keep track of it all.

I agree.
But to be fair we just think / feel that way because we deal with or around that kind of thing at work.
Most people I've learned don't do this at all. True story I made a spreadsheet approximating expenses when i bought my house and brought it to the bank for my mortgage preapprival process. I was told they'd never seen that in 30 years. I have to do economic feasibility studies probably once a month. (Well... Four times in one week every four months). I couldn't imagine buying a house without figuring out what kind of house I could afford comfortably. And if u hadn't I'd have likely lost my house when oil crashed like 20% of home owners in the province did.
Most people just float in the wind and react. It's why most people have basically no savings in NA. Our education system fails our population in this regard.
