And here I am, bemoaning that starting 2 weeks from now I'll spend a couple months having to actually show up at work by 9 AM straight. ... Oh and the client company's representative pointed at the meeting how important this project is since they're treading new waters. I'm sure I'll do fine. Yeah.

The biggest issues in the suburbs is just finding something that fits all of our categories. Close enough to her work, close enough to a train station for my commute, close enough to our family, in the price point, and then with all the amenities on top. If we sacrifice one of those things, it opens up a lot more homes, but we're just trying to find something that ticks all the boxes at once.

Adulting sucks super hard a lot of the time I think. Really feeling it despite relative successes.

I have a couple of other places to look at, but I'm quite fond of this first one already... I'm not too picky about making sacrifices for things, but right now I'm definitely looking for something that feels a little more 'home' than an apartment complex.

Biggest downside is that it's on the market in less than two weeks, and my current lease isn't up til the end of May, so I'd be making moves or at least coordinating logistics a lot sooner than I'd anticipated, and I'd be on the hook for an extra month of rent. Upside is that it would give me a lot of flexibility in the time frame for moving. I have a couple of other places to look at, but I'm quite fond of this first one already... Do you have some roommates? 3 bed is pretty big for one dude, not to mention expensive.

This place kinda just popped up and is reasonably priced compared to the other places I'm looking (and it's gas heat as opposed to electric baseboard). Yeah, it might be a little overkill, and idk what I'd do with the extra room yet. I've lived alone for the last ~6 years, so I'm kinda used to it at this point. This one place feels more like something I could grow into as opposed to settling into an apartment situation again, which is appealing.

But, all the best wishes and etc. In local news, my dad is visiting me and it's weird because prior to a month or two ago I hadn't spoken to him in like five years or whatever. I have anxiety about this. He's a jerk. In fact, my entire family is pretty much falling apart while I sit in Asia. Makes me think about going home a lot.

Being a homeowner is pretty ok. Its cheaper than renting in my area so there's that lol. There's the upkeep stuff but if we're honest I think we all like to have a little pride of ownership ![]()
