MtG has a secondary market so the actual way to "earn" cards is to buy singles directly rather than cracking packs at all.

I get my cards for free. Don't know what you guys are doing wrong.

I wouldn't consider "not playing WoW" to be "something I'm doing wrong".

For my trouble I estimate that in a few weeks I'll be earning 3-4 tokens a week depending on exactly what post-7.2 revenue looks like and token prices.

alright I think I'll get BW:HD instead. I think HS is just fine but I'm getting super hyped watching some BW lately.

Gwent is pretty fun since it's quite different. It has the same card pool issues as eternal but at least no limited which is a nice bonus. LOL so you hate limited so much that you'd rather a game exist with strictly less features because of it?
Edit: oh missed the explanation post. Can't write a treatise on why I think you're wrong atm but you are

Cube on the other hand is something I can get behind or "limited" designed not to drive sales of boring weaks but akin to cube without the singleton restriction.
If Gwent figures out a way to deliver such an experience then yes I can consider that a feature.

Dood saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame. Watching BW always motivates me, and then I actually play, I'm having trouble just doing stuff at >30 unit count, and then I just lose to my friend's reaver/dt drop lol.

Sounds like you need to become one with the Flash and spam turrets.
I wonder if the pro scene will switch to it from base BW.

There must be a better way to do this.

Can confirm protoss broke as fuck til like C level BW. After that don't know cuz I'm bad and was only above C for like 2 days during a lucky run many years ago.
Having to micro dragons don't mean shit when no one has units.

There must be a better way to do this. The explanation for limited power seems simple to me, but then again I'm an easygoing guy: if everything is powerful, then nothing is. (obviously there are other nuances to it, such as strategic benefit for identifying the uses for cards at different levels of power, but again, time. Not to mention we've tried to argue this with you before and you just can't be convinced.)
Even in relation to powered cubes, there are always cards that are way more powerful than others. You don't think that if a magic set was created with the power level of a cube that ultimately chaff would settle to the bottom for constructed use?
If there is a better way of doing things I'd be shocked to be quite honest, and that's with the inclusion of the knowledge of wizards making money getting people to gamble for chase mythics, etc. not being the ideal.
Edit: and I should say, if boxes filled with chaff is really what your primary problem is, then it's simply that limited isn't for you, not that it's inherently a problem format or fucks with other games/formats merely by existing. (even though I agree that it sometimes does, but not necessarily to the extreme detriment of a constructed fornat)

This seems like a rather weak argument after we've had masters sets of high power level being praised as good and fun draft/limited environments. People even talk about some of the best draft environments as being those of high power level like INN or KTK. There is a vast difference between cards just not being powerful enough and draft chaff. You know this, I know this, yanger knows this. Why intentionally misrepresent this?
edit: It's the draft chaff that really gets me. The cards that just inspire absolutely no hype or power. The cards that make up majority of new sets. The excuses for bad cards being they're designed for limited. The excuse for cards being at mythic and rare that shouldn't be as "they're bad for limited". All this shit gets to me. I don't believe they have to sacrifice one for the other. I've mentioned that I think there's a middle ground. Problem is most design isn't trying to reach that middle. They just focusing on the one

The cards that made KTK powerful for constructed and the cards that made KTK a fun limited format are not the same though. As another example, Rise is a "powerful" limited format where most of the things that make it powerful would be "draft chaff" in your book.
|
You don't think there's plenty of chaff in modern masters, innistrad or KTK?
I'm not misrepresenting anything.
I'm also surprised you think any of this is new wizards philosophy. Go look at any old draft format, helll almost any old set and look at the power level of most of those cards.
Absolute garbage for both constructed and limited, most of them, but they still made for interesting draft formats a bunch of the time.
|
The new philosophy is making everything midrange fest, not just focusing on limited.
|
you put a lot of stock in the bullshit excuses, considering they're, well, bullshit.
they keep printing bad cards because they want to keep selling 4 sets a year while not killing constructed from powercreep (which would need to happen if ppl need to feel that most of the cards in a set are 'good', considering nothing is evaluated in a vacuum) bad cards are not needed for limited per se, but their slots need to be filled with bad cards so might as well design shitty limited chaff, since they can't put constructed playables there.
and considering wozzies efforts at pushing certain mythics for standard play, I'm glad they don't try to do it with every card tbh.
