The cards are great and are stupid powerful, but i want nothing to do with them because the hieroglyphic text and the borders detract from the card. Like if it was something minor, sure, but this actively look nothing like magic cards and look like someone wrote a shitty fan fiction where yugi moto started playing magic the gathering and became a planes walking dragon. Unless you're dropping a grand or so on the i7, at which point I probably would just get Ryzen CPU instead. | ||

Feels good to be making little bits of progress. also (since I don't think I've posted about it here yet) - Kerbal Space Program is fantastic. I've got a science ship orbiting the Mun with a passenger ship set to orbit it soon as well. Still haven't done the tutorial to land on foreign planets yet, but I'm enjoying career mode so far. Shit's hard as hell and I haven't figured out spacecraft building or the best way to do unmanned satellites. Kinda trying to figure out as much as I can without outside help. | ||

Gwent is pretty fun since it's quite different. It has the same card pool issues as eternal but at least no limited which is a nice bonus. | ||

I just think limited and constructed fight each other for design space. More often than not new-age TCG design sacrifices constructed health for good limited environments. I understand that from a business sense as limited "validates" the pack method of sale but from someone that likes constructed it's rather disappointing. As I said initially, Eternal only has one real set so it's too early to really judge. If the new set doesn't really do much to improve that health of constructed then I'm pretty out of it. The fact that their patching philosophy seems to push certain archetypes that all the TCGs are pushing is a bit worrisome though. In an ideal world I think there's a space for "new-age" TCG midrange fests and older school more "combo/spell" focus. It's just currently people are too far off to one side instead of trying to reach a middle ground. Then they justify this through some weird ass logic. We've seen MTG have some really awesome high powered limited environments yet the go to is 95% cards are draft chaff in any given set. This is just poor design imo. | ||
