Well yeah, it's very much survival/stealth oriented, getting into prolonged gunfights is more or less suicide.
On another gaming note, I'm playing through Metal Gear Rising and holy shit is this game amazing. Fast action, that Kojima story style of "what the fuck am I watching" and "this is hilariously good", and one of the best soundtracks I've listened to in a looooooooong time. I've always loved the MGS series, but this is an awesome derivative for a straight action game.
A bit too many quick time events, maybe is my only complaint, but even then they're awesome enough warrant it. I THREW A FUCKING RAY THROUGH A BUILDING. AND THEN I RAN ON MISSILES IN FLIGHT TO KICK IT IN THE TEETH. this was like 7 minutes into the game wtf hahahahahah

Btw GTA5 is fucking massive. I'm really enjoying it so far. With GTA V, Last of Us, and Bioshock Infinite it's been a pretty solid last year for this generation of consoles. Can you explain what you liked about the Last of Us? I finally played it like a week ago after spending the last two months listening to people tell me it's the best game they've ever played (without explaining why because "OMG I DON'T WANT TO SPOIL IT FOR YOU") and I found it very...meh. Maybe I just went into it expecting too much but it's hard to get a straight answer out of a lot of my friends lol. Well, if you go into it with a lot of hype nothing usually lives up to it. That said, it's an incredibly well made story-based and environmental game. It's not a revelation of gameplay, Naughty Dog hasn't done that since Crash. However, what they do make is interactive movies with stunning visuals, relatable and interesting characters, and action sequences that manage to be the right blend of cinematic and challenging. From the standpoint of a piece of "art" or "interactive medium", it's one of the best things ever made. But, like I said, if you're just in it for gameplay and don't care about story or environment/atmosphere, it will probably underwhelm you. Once you meet Bill and get about halfway through his portion, the story really takes off, I can see it being a bit slow beforehand. On the other hand, if the opening sequence didn't get to you, you probably have no soul. Sorry. Glad to have you back Req, pretty much hit the nail on the head. It was just a really emotional journey that was a well told story and a fun game. It's hard to blend both together.

Btw GTA5 is fucking massive. I dunno how the fuck my dad does it. proper body mechanics helps a lot too.

Their bodies adapt to what they are doing, I bet their abs/obliques are a lot stronger than yours which contributes to less strain on the back muscles. Probably just anecdotal evidence as well but I think humans work better getting up at dawn and going to sleep just after nightfall (which is the sleep cycle for most tradies/builders).

Rin route is definitely the most difficult to navigate, also the most well-written. But not best girl, had 3rd most feels for me.
Lilly tho ;_;

It has a massive amount of OTP/d'awwwwwwws, if you're into that (I was o/).
Other than that it's below average imo. Then again, I have LotR and Sword of Shannara as below average too... so maybe I just hate all the oldies. >_>
I wonder if I went back and reread Dragonlance (Seasons/Twins)... would I feel it lacking too?
Clearly trying to reverse-hype the series as much as possible so it goes greater than expectations for you.

I have bad experiences re-reading series I read years ago.
Better leave them as a great memory, I say

But yeah it's so good. Best written imoimo + Show Spoiler + Yeah, yeah, I remember you all being gay for Lil- wait, no, that's not how it works. While I can understand why she is people's favourite girl, playing her route (got it first after "Kenji" 's thrice, hue, although it prob "should" have been Hanako's) def. made her look like an archetype. Not that it's a bad thing in itself (depends on the goals and means, Alice in MonMusu is very archetypical on several points but that's good because the game aims at playing around with tropes and archetypes so it "requires" characters to be this way, for example), however being conscious of how something is made archetypal to be tailored toward a certain audience and answer/cater to their expectations definitely makes it harder to enjoy said something on a personal level. However, despite being obviously designed as a "perfect girl", it's still executed well enough (and not too overbearing) that it kinda works.
(Maybe that sounds a bit too pejorative. Uh, let's take a popular example like Air or Clannad: if you're part of the targeted audience, sure, you'll get "dem feels", but when thinking rationally about it it's not "it was the best piece ever written", there's a fair share of "I have these obvious strings sticking up, and the story was specifically tailored to pull on them as hard as possible". It's not exactly cheating, but more than good writing it's clever writing (which takes skill too, just on a different level ). Edit: anyway, obv. inb4 Neo disappoint moment.)
More broadly KS' writing surprised me, not that I'm the kind to read/play dating sims so I dunno how deep they usually are; I didn't expect the writing to be as good as it is, nor for it to be focused on plausible interactions, and the personalities rather than disabilities/exagerated drama (tragic dying girl syndrom). Gets way more interesting when you can reflect on characters' traits and thought processes from their own view point outside of when playing the game.
Almost got Rin's good ending on the first try, maybe if I wasn't so tired or thought a bit longer when making the choice that lead to the bad ending. I got the intent right, but not the means (notmyfaultEmigetssomadwhenyoutrytoaskhertoexplainIdidherroute2ndsoIwasbrainwashedintonotdaringtovoicemyneedforunderstandingtoomuch) and after the choice I read a sentence or two then told myself "Uh, no, that's the wrong way to go about it, should have been the other choice to relieve her fears". Welp.

The Malazan book of the fallen series is pretty good. I preferred it to Wheel of time. Wheel of Time is kind of a mixture of Fiests work. The Empire trilogy from him was pretty awesome.

There's a lot of text to sludge through but it's very enjoyable despite how heavy it is. The WoT universe is very fleshed out and well thought through. The first few books are good but by books 8 and onwards the plot starts getting really spread out and complicated with more characters and side plots than you can shake a stick at which makes the slog a bit more weary. But if you like Fantasy then it's a good series and I would definitely recommend it.

Dragonlance was my jam back in the day, I gobbled that stuff up like you wouldn't believe. I've been reading the WoT books and they can get really slow at times, alot of stuff to go through. I've recent finished reading the book thief and this book called mercy among the children, and god damn it the latter book almost broke me. Highly recommended if you're looking for a more somber reading experience

my favorite fantasy serieses are the Belgariad and the Pern books (and discworld obvs)
