Also, add Xenocide to the Ender's game list. It's the third of the Speaker series, and it's quite good. Although I still maintain my "I really wish Orson Scott Card wasn't a douche" stance.

I was considering throwing in the "You could start reading Ender's Game, but maybe not since OSC is such a gargantuan asshole." 2 cents but thought that'd be better left to someone else. :/ Maybe not. BY THE WAY CARD IS A BAG OF DICKS. #dutydischarged That out of the way, I like all of the rest of the Ender saga. 1) Power levels are fucking insane for league as opposed to a traditional tabletop system, it's almost impossible to balance in the confines of, say, 3.5/4.0/Pathfinder. A blowgun dart does as much as a fireball which does more than a tidal wave which does damage and buffs and debuffs, sharks appearing out of the earth and doing more damage than a viking throwing an axe at your face... there's just no equivalent spells/equipment/fluff to justify the various abilities. 2) If you play traditional classes, it's hard to differentiate characters. Garen, Darius, J4, maybe Xin, Aatrox would all end up being Fighter/Warblade/whatever 3rd party book you can find, but in a campaign combat they wouldn't feel as different as they do in game. Mostly a fluff detail, but yeah. 3) Wizards are broken 4) My campaign would be mostly set in Valoran (as in, not the Rift), but I don't know if people would rather play Champions or random people that live in the world. My first idea is to have people playing hopeful Champions/Summoners on a quest to get recognized by the League, but idk if that's interesting enough. 5) I kind of suck at things so I would probably let all of you down >.>

The transition from Ender's Game/Shadow to Speaker of the Dead was really weird for me. It felt like a completely different story even though I knew it was still completely connected.

Anyway, it can't butcher the book as bad as World War Z did.

It would be fun role playing our favorite champions, but it's MORE fun building your own identity (that's, IMO, the whole point of DnD). It would also probably be way easier for the DM from a design/balance perspective.

You can make psychics, magicians, elementalists, tanks, strongmen, Iron Man armor ripoffs, etc. It's a bit iffy because a lot of the spells are the same, just with different fluff, and the combat is kinda strange (there's no HP you just have lethal/nonlethal damage and a shitton of saves wtf), but it would give more character customization from a fluff/lore perspective. But I'm most inundated with D&D 3.5 on, and always open to learning new stuff.
