I'm disappointed Scip.

I don't have fun playing closed single player games because there always is a set of weakly dominant strategies and any other way is to play the game inefficiently.
So I mostly play roguelikes and fluff AAA titles with 0 gameplay and just visuals
+ Show Spoiler +and league cuz its a fake game for casuals amirite

I generally agree about closed single player games. Even stupid stuff like FarmVille never grabbed my interest.
But this is just something to switch back and forth to between working and posting (ok...just posting) and keeps me halfway entertained.

But the reward for human interaction is in experimentation, progression, and rewards (the standard traps of any MMORPG grinder). And like any MMORPG there will come a point of clarity in which you've realized despite your brain's sunk cost fallacy arguments, that the game has essentially been a complete waste of time for constructed progression achievement.
The only way to avoid this trap is to solve the game. Since everything has flat cookie cost and only modified cookies per time additively or multiplicatively, the closed system has a fairly straightforward optimization solution. Find the solution and thus even with learning AIs, you have achieved the method by which a perfect computer will perfectly play out the game. You have then beaten the game without even playing it. Congratulations. Amusingly, the wiki and the subreddit recommend playing with Cookie Monster, which basically tells you what to buy next for most CpS/cost.
Which in effect actually does mean the computer is playing for you.

I think you can do better than Cookie Monster because purely maximizing CpS efficiency isn't everything. There's basically a fixed ceiling of total Cookies Earned to achieve before things start to escape the system (aka you've beaten the game) and so you want to minimize the time it takes to get there first before working on CpS/C
I haven't mathed it out, but the general thought experiment is "If you've driven X to your destination but have the option to restart the drive at 3x the speed should you?" and you have to find the break even points for X so that even though you restart your total time is less.

LOL FUCK THAT The cost of appeasement goes up though so eventually it's worth it to take a 5% CpS hit. With things like Kitten Engineers you'll have a ridic multiplier anyway. Elder Pledges cap at ~0.5T. By the time you hit the cap, even buying Elder Pledges on CD costs way less than the CPS lost of Elder Covenant. YANGO NO NOT YOU TOO Actually I've been playing http://candies.aniwey.net/ for like months.
Why have you done this

Candies is slightly more fun that cookie clicker because the optimization has more parameters. The point of cookie clicker is to maximize CpS whereas in Candies maximizing candies/s is just half the problem. There are also random puzzles and quests to solve.
Its a big like a pure RPG where the computer grinds for you and you can tell it to grind more efficienctly but at least you spend less time on grinding and more time on puzzles.

Yeah that was the immediately obvious limitation of Cookie Monster to me, which is why I didn't use it. Also, it was more fun to spreadsheet it myself.
Though a point of note is that once you get to the point where you have all the Golden Cookie upgrades, maximizing CpS efficiency IS everything because Golden Cookie income completely dwarfs the actual cost of things for quite a long while.

Its only fun to do spreadsheets when you don't have to do them to earn money.
Also that's another career path where you basically get paid to pass tests, but my current job pays me to pass tests and I get to post on TL all day.
