I don't think less of anyone for drinking. It's just not for me and I don't get why people look at me like I'm crazy when I say something like that.

This is a big part of why it's fun.

We're just letting you know that there are are some absolute positives to it that you haven't considered. If you still don't want to do it, that's completely your choice. To me though you sound like I did at a young age and don't want to drink/'do drugs' because you refuse to consider what positives they may have in favour of the overwhelming negatives that we are blasted with as a society constantly. Yes, drinking/drugs can be bad, we get it. Honestly speaking? I kind of regret never having smoked weed just to try it out a few times. I was very proud of myself for many years have never done it but now seeing it becoming legal in many places and knowing that unless you yourself have an addictive personality/abuse it much like anything else can be abused, there are no truly harmful side-effects, I feel like simply missed out on an experience due to my closed-mindedness. You draw your own lines on what you deem acceptable or not, and whatever choice you make is fine, but objectively speaking so long as a recreational drug does not hurt you nor anyone else and one has the capability of responsibility surrounding it (read: 'legal age') I don't see a problem with it. If I'd have to rate abusing of addictive substances gaming would be way higher on the list than alcohol or anything else for me.

I don't think less of anyone for drinking. It's just not for me and I don't get why people look at me like I'm crazy when I say something like that. You're not. You just seem to make a big deal of it and attract attention to yourself. You're like the Kaceytron of not drinking. ![]() And it's not more fun than doing anything else, I don't think anyone said that. And Soniv, I'm not dead but call me crazy but I can't see myself going out and trying to find a dealer of some sort at this point in my life. Shit's just way easier to find when you're in Uni/among young immature friends. ![]() Was your coming to Canada an offer though? ![]()

Let's drop the drama queen act. You're right though maybe I was unfair, but then don't necessarily assume people think you're crazy for not drinking.

I said I didn't find it fun because reasons, and then everyone basically told me that the things I consider bad are actually good and I'm just trying to be negative and my reasons are wrong. Then I got told I don't understand fun. I might be a little dramatic, but I don't think I'm being overly dramatic. I'm wasn't trying to play a martyr card, just have a discussion on opposing viewpoints, and you compared me to peer-pressure campaigns and called me "the Kaceytron of not drinking" lol.

Can't believe it's almost been 8 years since that game came out :'( I played 3 a bit, never got really into it though, I had a buddy that I played CoD with that played gears 1 and 2 on GB, I haven't talked with him in a while though, mostly because I haven't gotten an XB1 yet. Arena shooter type games are fun, and the stuff you can do in gears if you know how to wall-hop is stupid, you can almost never die unless someone else is as good as you are, or you fuck up a jump lol.

I can only speak for myself, but I wasn't trying to convince you to start drinking, so to hear you say that you felt that way, the peer pressure thing was the first thing that came into my mind. And Kaceytron---was just trying to be funny. Do you hate boobs too? ![]() Your reasons aren't wrong but they're not objectively right. You absolutely were only focusing on negative aspects of drinking only from your descriptions, and if you still can't understand the positives from what other people offer, that's your prerogative, simple as that.

I think fantasy sports leagues are stupid but I've had a lot of coworkers that I like that do it. I think lots of current movies are stupid but I occasionally enjoy them and my parents like the dumbest movies I've ever seen. Unless it's cool to be stupid. Then peer pressure wins. well On April 13 2014 02:14 Ketara wrote: Lets be fair, drinking is pretty stupid. This is a big part of why it's fun.

There's nothing interesting to me about people getting stupider than they already are and then telling me it was worth getting hurt, getting sick, and ruining relationships. I don't decry it, I don't mind if people do it, I just don't see the upside other than "it's easier to have fun". Don't you think it's only fair that you first TRY it before knocking it? You said you've never drank enough to get drunk yet you say you don't find the appeal in it. Try it once and then report back and make your decision.

At random times it's just funny to bring up stupid stories that occurred while drinking with your friends because you can all laugh and enjoy them. The first time I got drunk was in the winter during a huge snowstorm. At one point I ran outside and started throwing snowballs at some friends and then tried to run back into the house but slipped on the stairs like 3 times and hurt my hip. I was high too though so not good. On April 13 2014 01:55 Nos- wrote: beer is more for getting drunk fast and cheaply, if you want something that's more tasty you're probably gonna have to go and look elsewhere I also disagree with this. I guess it's cuz I'm Czech but I'll always prefer beer to something like tequila or vodka. It just tastes so good - but takes forever to get you drunk. And those carbs man, can't deal. Man, I missed the best TL discussion in forever.

You said you've never drank enough to get drunk yet you say you don't find the appeal in it. Try it once and then report back and make your decision. In this case, no I don't think it's that necessary. I'll try anything about once to see what it's like, and have on multiple occasions. I've tried different types of alcohol, and while there are certain beers that are nice and I tend to like wine, I generally don't drink more than one glass (or bottle for beer, whatever). Probably because I don't drink a lot of stuff that isn't water, I don't even drink more than a can of pop a week anymore, if at all. So on that front, I probably wouldn't enjoy drinking things that I don't like (like hard alcohol) or overdrinking things that I do like just for some sort of payoff at the end. As for actually being drunk, I've been around drunk people plenty of times. And while I talk about my bad experiences, I've also had perfectly normal ones too, like the time everyone got drunk and we had a Guitar Hero and Halo tournament. I had plenty of fun being sober, and I don't think anyone really had substantially more fun because of drunkenness. I've been to family parties where my family members get drunk and we all throw a football around or just sit around watching TV and talking. I never felt like my experience needed to be enhanced by being drunk. So, the path to getting drunk doesn't appeal to me, and I don't feel like I need to be drunk to have as much fun as I do. Combine that with bad experiences and repressed anger/depression issues, and I don't really see how getting blackout drunk would improve my life in any way. If other people have more fun when drunk, cool! Good for you. I just don't need to, and I don't think it's necessary for me to try it to prove/disprove that hypothesis.
