Out of all of the people in this picture, how many can you actually remember their names? + Show Spoiler + ![]() I literally rewatched TTGL a week ago and I can only name 3 people in that picture. In fact, I'd say the biggest problem with TTGL as a series is how shallow and uninteresting the supporting cast is, and that this is the main difference between TTGL and KLK thematically, and they fixed it in spades. Characters who matter in KLK: Ryuko, Senketsu, Satsuki, Mako, Gamagoori (only included for awesome, the other 3 don't do much to the story), Mikisugi (barely), Kiryuin, Nui, Mako's family (counted as one because they basically are). Characters that matter in TTGL: Simon, Nia, Kamina, Viral, Kittan, Yoko, LordGenome, Leeron, Rossiu, Antispiral, Gimmy/Dari (counted as one), Dayaka and gang (counted as one), Boota (sorta). Similar sizes. And I had to look up half the KLK characters despite finishing it not 30 minutes ago. Can you really say that Ryuko got as much development as Simon? Or Nui as Viral? Gamagoori was pretty good but in no way did he develop as much as Kittan did. Kiryuin was a good bad guy, maybe (maybe) on par with the Antispiral at her best. In fact, the person who got the most depth of character was Satsuki, which was strange because she didn't do fuck all but stand there for the first 13 episodes.

But for you Frudgey, I shall try ![]() Anime: 1) TTGL 2) Samurai Champloo 3) Mushishi Honorable Mentions: FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, Welcome to the NHK, Ghost in the Shell, various Gundams, Blue Submarine #6 Manga: 1) TRIGUN 2) Fullmetal Alchemist 3) Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer Honorable Mentions: Psyren, Rurouni Kenshin, Bakuman, Negima, Onani Master Kurosawa, Death Note, Hellsing, Pokemon Adventures, Tonari No Seki Kun For both, #1 is solid but the rest are kind of nebulous on how I'm feeling. I'm also probably missing a couple.

YES I loved Molester Man, it's definitely up there in my rankings. It's kind of funny, in manga I wouldn't say I've lowered my standards for what I'll read, but I definitely give things a lot more time or be my gracious with the kinds of manga I'd read just because some of the most oddball or crazy concepts turn out pretty damn good.

I feel like manga is easy and quick enough to read that it never hurts to read a few chapters of something to see if you like it or not. Some of my favorite mangas have come from ideas I thought I'd hate. Bakuman is about people writing manga, but it's like the most hot-blooded thing in the world for no particular reason. Bonnouji has no point, but it's really cute and funny. And so on with the other list.

I didn't know that you don't like doing top 3 lists so I shall not ask again. I have to say though, I'm only familiar with like 15% of the things you listed. A lot of these I've never even heard of. I hope that's something I can rectify over the summer. Thanks again for the list. Have a great evening sir!

I honestly don't watch all that much anime anymore, but I've been meaning to. Honestly there's a lot of big shows that I've only watched partway through that I need to finish, and a lot of movies (some Miyazaki stuff, etc) that I've never seen. But manga I read a fair amount. I can give plenty of recommendations if you don't like anything on that list or are looking for other genres. g'night buddy
