If I actually really needed it, I wouldn't be asking for people's thoughts. I just like buying things

Then you're left with ok decisions like game/system/controller/alcohol/mtg cards/tickets to something etc. which are win-win no matter what you pick also helps with perspective, especially when lump infrequent but scheduled expenses come up. you have Y in the bank account and X is your budgeted disposable income, so when the thing you want is like 1/32 of Y it is not a lot at all! but then you look at the amount you've budgeted from your income towards disposable and realize the thing you want is 3/4 of X. Then you know well maybe I won't be able to buy those cards I wanted. Maybe I won't buy this thing because I'd really like those cards and have something to drink for TL game night... and I know I have that show I want to go to next month which is like all of X for next month.

Yeah, Simple bank makes it really easy to budget out goals and shit. I don't actually spend that much on myself, which is why it was so easy at the end of last year to be like "hmm I want a new car" and then save up for a decent down payment and bought it within a few months. I'm just randomly super frugal about somethings and frivolous about others at the same time.

It especially sucks because I basically look exactly like my father, except in beards apparently because at my age he had a kick-ass full black beard. I blame my mother's side, they have no beards over there. All my uncles on my father's side had awesome beards at some point in their lives. ![]() I grow facial hair like crazy. I hate it.
