I am a big fan of the Kpop music, I actually listen to it semi-frequently, but idol wise I don't think any Kpop star can compete with Willow Smith or Carly Rae Jepson. Those 2 are on a whole another level.

I tried Katawa Shoujo because they wouldn't shut up about it on 4chan, and it turns out far from being weird or emotional or different or whatever IT'S JUST A BORING AS FUCK DATING SIM. Jesus christ, the writing, the pacing, the characters, it's like bad really fanfiction.
Hey guys, let's take the same 6 archetypes that exist in every fucking harem anime, ever, and put them in a dating sim, again, but this time let's give them disabilities because that will make it interesting and different.
It's not different and it's not interesting. It's hardly even a game. You get to make like one choice every half hour, so it's more like a visual novel. A really bad visual novel about japan teen romance written by a bunch of western, middle-aged, basement-dwelling, body-pillow hugging, foreveralone weeaboos.
... This review wasn't supposed to turn out this hateful when I started writing it. I guess I just really hate when people like what I don't like.

I didn't like katawa shoujo either and I actually finished three of the girls, boring as fuck and it just feels cheap that "OH THEY'RE CRIPPLED LOOK AT THE FEEEEELS" Emi was awful, shizune was boring for like 99%,got mildly interesting then they just decide to end it right there and I don't even remember how hanako went.

Did you seriously just open a criticism of a celebrity with "I bet he's not even good at [Candy Crush]"?

Well, everything else about Bieber is just too obviously bad to criticize.

How good you are at candy crush is directly related to how valuable a person and human being you are

KS didn't sweep me off my feet. I kinda liked the writing, I was expecting way worse though so it was a nice surprise (and I'm not hard to please in general). In the end what I enjoyed most was the discussions I had with other peole regarding the situations, interpretations, and the parallels with similar situations that happened to people we know. It's not necessarily about the game/movie/book/whatever, but also what you take out of it I guess.

I used to like KPop (2008-2011) probably because it made me feel younger again /reminded me of the 90's.
Now I realize like 85% of it is pretty bad and/or groups got big and churn out crap now.
Ah I remember the days of browsing TL Kpop thread or browsing Soshi forums after HS......
2009 Kpop Era best.

I gave it a couple episodes because a couple of the guys in my D&D group were into it, and didn't like it, but I can see how people who are into western cartoons might like it. The community isn't even that bad unless you're at /mlp/, which is basically just X-rated fanfiction, and you can say that about any fandom.

Then you're entirely missing the point of the story. If you're focusing on the disabilities, then of course it's trite and in bad taste. But the point of each story was that it never focused on anyone's disability other than perhaps Hanako's crippling social anxiety, which is tangentially related to her burns. The stories are about rather normal issues that people have in relationships and how who we are on the outside doesn't change that. It's not even about "being beautiful on the inside", it's about how people are people and how you deal with normal issues like trust, boundaries, and interdependence.
If you couldn't get into the story for whatever reason, maybe you just don't like romances because of the lack of action or the high school setting, then that's whatever. But to say "it's dumb because crippled chicks" is possibly the stupidest criticism you can level because it clearly shows you didn't even pay attention to anything that was happening, and you're as thick as Hisao is for most of it.
I'm rather disappointed in this place. Attempting to make people feel bad about the things they like is hilarious coming from people who spend a good chunk of their days playing a MOBA (which is about one step away from being an MMO) and another good portion on an online gaming forum. You're trying to tell people that what they like is creepy because it's different, when during my school years you'd get laughed at for reading a book instead of playing basketball during recess. My socially-unacceptable shut-in oriented hobby is stranger than yours because it involves women and romance? K, you can go back to talking about getting swole and hooking up with random chicks if you want to feel superior again, I just don't care anymore lol.

damn you sound defensive as fuck
have you considered that the fact that you have to feel defensive about it might be indicative of something?

People are allowed to defend their hobbies when they're passionate about them and believe that people are incorrectly maligning them, especially if they find those people to be reasonable and intelligent in other capacities.
I have to do it about video games and eSports all the time, so I don't understand why 'being defensive' is a bad thing when it's about something you like.
It's like calling someone a 'tryhard.'

I too have, and still do, get defensive when my hobbies/interests get heavily criticized. You think growing up being a male gymnast was easy?

Just out of curiosity; when did you start, for how long did you continue training, and how tall are you?
I've never met someone who did gymnastics for more than 5-7 years break 5"5/164cm.

have you considered that the fact that you have to feel defensive about it might be indicative of something? I don't understand this criticism. I posted multiple times with logical reasons as to why I enjoy the idol industry and why I spend a lot of time on kpop sites. People asked why kpop fans are as "creepy" as they are (and in a none-too-polite tone, I may add), and I really tried to have a polite discourse.
This, of course, is met with "lol creepy" and "stop fantasizing". I attempt to further explain, similar responses.
There's nothing creepy about it if you think about it. In the kpop discussion- they're entertainers, I'm being entertained by them. It's not that different from anything else, but because there is the added layer of them being cute girls it's automatically unnatural. For VNs, because it's a story based around romance it's automatically strange.
