The whole "how badly can you break the game" part is what I like the most about the game actually. Cinquedea say wut. The whole figuring out optimal levelling and jobs and trying to go for a 100% completion and where to place the cities and stuff was also pretty cool. I don't think I'd have the patience and time to math it all out now any more though. LoD was really tedious though and the levelling made so little sense qq. I would say that there is a very large difference in the Campaign, especially if you are trying to clear Hard Mode Campaign (HC). The AI has a wildly different personality and win conditions are very different. For example, AW1 HC is all about kamikaze blitz and clearing missions in almost impossible time requirements while AW2 HC is about unit efficiency. The new Commanders, introduction of Super Powers (in addition to regular CO Powers) and rebalancing of abilities also makes the tactics a lot more different too. Advance Wars is def. brutal at times though, in that you spend more time holding on against the odds, and only then you start couter-attacking, while AW2 generally lets you be more offensive with your initial units. Wat. AW2 HC is waaaaayyyy easier. And last mission is ridic silly. You literally just run at the Control Tower with a single Bomber and giggle as it one-shots it and wins you the map.

This is the only reason I like Tactical RPGs, I like the illusion that I outsmart people with the reality that my units are broken and overpowered.

I played AW1 on gameboy as a kid until AW2 came out, then played that, beat the game, and then went back to AW1 until I gave up, and tried AW2, beat everything, and went back to AW1 I'd say AW1 is a better place to start if you're looking for hardcore gamer experience, although AW2 is more interesting (also more dumb though). Also I think there's still a AW1 War Room map that I haven't S-ranked

I'm getting conned into buying bravery default by my friends, I downloaded the demo just so one of them could have a slave worker to upgrade his buildings faster. Didn't work, couldn't use me as a worker, I fought the power and won, man. Also, fuck snow, was out helping to clear a nearby campus of snow for 9 hours today, they did let us use the cafeteria for lunch, so it wasn't all bad, but holy god the roads where shitty this morning....
