It's also just not healthy to read everything and value every post equally. I just scroll down a page in GD skimming and then selectively read what I think is interesting.

It's not so much the content but the arguing that kills it for me. Discussion is great, arguments just distract.

All you say is, "S2 championships sold out in 30 seconds and then people got gouged by 3rd party vendors", This is especially true if they use some sort of dynamic pricing system. hmm this is actually a really interesting idea. I wonder what algorithm airlines use to adjust ticket prices by demand and supply. an interesting startup idea would to be create a inventory/pricing service that you can license out to online retailers (inb4 this already exists).

I don't know enough about internet forum community development to comment further. hmm this is actually a really interesting idea. It does for concert venues, which is a better parallel.

I also think that the IHs have dramatically boosted this community. The more in-game experience, the better. That's been my experience with most gaming scenes, it's always the ones that put in time playing the game and develop community with direct interaction that end up being the most successful. The ones that spend time arguing over internet forums and stuff never seem to go anywhere. As far as shitposting goes, I feel that it contributes to a negative community that is always bitching and defending, and that is far more worse than whatever crappy strategy or advice it is. It also explains why I've been supportive of off-topic, because it gets people to be adopt a more friendly and helpful attitude.

It's not just a masturbatory thing, where I would like to be appreciated for good advice, but giving advice just doesn't feel particularly helpful, because it oftentimes gets drowned in shit. I think you underestimate the amount of readers that will read something that a respected member of the forum posts, but not actually respond to - they'll just think "hmm, that is interesting, maybe i'll try it out," or whatever. Like anyone who has been on this fourm for awhile knows who the good posters are and follows what they say.

It really does seem like a great way to get some serious premade experience and just get better thanks to the advice of better players. Your tips were really helpful yesterday! Would love to see you in the IHs, but I'm guessing lag from czech would be fucking horrible. Who gives good ideas, and who gives PX-tier ideas.
