Maru won a Super Tournament last year over Dark (one of the best finals I've seen in a while too).

Kind of seems like it was that series specifically that wore their bodies out.

i don't really recall Maru vs Reynor at king battle, but I remember a lot of Serral games against KR terrans where he took A LOT of mines shot he wouldn't otherwise. You could actually see when he played vs Clem that even during intense multitask sessions he still microe'd well vs the mines. Pretty sure it was lag; and of course the terrans didn't micro as well as with low ping.
ByuN vs Serral was good indeed but ByuN was playing a relatively campy style so the lag didn't matter as much I guess.

Mvp was literally dead.
I do think Maru deserves some credit for completely changing his playstyle to make the GSL final with a broken shoulder last year.

That Super Tournament was played more like a Code S though. They had nothing else to practice or save themselves for in that one. It's not like when Rogue/Maru/TY are already qualified for the Global Finals and consistently bomb out of them despite incredible Code S performances.

I was impressed by game one if only because I expected Maru to be overaggressive initially and was pleasantly surprised. And I thought he was all over the place throughout all of G1.
Games 2 and 3 though yeah he didn't exactly have to do anything special to win after his early leads

Maru did seem to catch Rogue more off guard early than he did "outplay" him throughout. I think Reynor will be a much tougher opponent

Game 2 Maru got caught as out of position as humanly possible and didn't die. Sure, that just means he was that much ahead at the time, but I am extremely salty about it. Anyway, unimpressed is an understatement .

Zergs are taking mire mine shots, terrans are suffering more of baneling sure but the game are as exciting imo and even long game are not necesseraly decided by ping/control.
Serral lost because of strategical decision, (not going for bl, producing mutas against mass ghost...) which is good.
I am really excited for this anyway, at least, it can't be more underwhelming that the previous serie !

Only other Terran I've seen successfully pull that style off in TvZ is TY. It's definitely not standard.

This sort of builds have been used a lot by cure against reynor and serral at the king battle.
