Is that how they will do it? Or will they flip it so Bunny/RagnaroK loser will play someone from the "other side" of the bracket they have never played vs?

it looks like they already did that flip for the 2nd round, so it looks like a zig-zag pattern to me and this round might flip again
is has vs uthermal worth rewatching or was it bad?
besides, I remember those super long days of RO48 and this seemed a bit too short for what we are used to with Katowice.. they even had breaks in between matches in bo3 and it still felt like a short day to me lol

Because what sOs would do is he would beat TY and Maru, lose to everyone else and then somehow cause a giant clusterfuck of a tie breaker that somehow sees the good players eliminated.

sOs lives rent free in TY's head and has been teammates with Maru for 8 years. He doesn't have to play particularly well to beat them, sadly.

Fact: The same player won every Code S that year so he still got more money
Still an insanely clutch performance against the supposed best player in the world for a lot of money. "Twice as long"—figure out how linear time works

Maru and TY seem to build way more CCs as they transition to lategame than Byun does.
I feel like sos could have won super easily if he just made a few different decisions. Rotti's comment about an unusual lack of killer instinct from sos last game is on point.

Players are limited to two pauses per map. A pause can last no longer than five minutes. The reason for the pause has to be communicated to the referee in-game (combined in total 10mins). Hydras can be tricky since it's really easy to get slightly out of position and taking loads of damage. Corruptors give you more of a margin for error (though it might not be as 'optimal').

So there doesn't seem to be any particular reason needed to ask for a pause? As an aside I'm not convinced that players have things like notes about proxy-void rays that they'd like to consult mid-game. If they really need to consult their notes then they probably will botch the hold. Stuff like notes about overlord scouting paths would be reviewed before the game.

I hadn't even realised that. That is so depressing.
Leenock's military service is close to done, if that's any consolation.
It's nice, and I guess no other Zerg is close to the military. Rogue is 1994 and they don't have to go for a few years, going now would just be bonkers nobody would do that amirite

Heh.
But jokes aside TY does sound like he has a solid reasoning if auxiliary police is really that much more gamer-friendly than regular military service.

That is true enough but I do question how much of a starcraft scene there will be to come back to. Seems very unlikely that GSL will still be going in 2023. So I guess he's aiming for BW.
Actually can we maybe swap Solar out of group A for Dark? Solar is only the 3rd highest point player in his tier and I think he's really hurting the group's "We are number 1" image.
at least players who qualify from group A will have more time to study their opponents, will be able to watch their games, so that's something. Still, what a bloodbath to survive.

Almost half of the players left are terrans so it is not surprising. What is more surprising is two groups with 3 tosses each. and the other two with just one. THAT is more of a unlucky "feeding"

What is surprising is that the 4 Terrans with a shot of winning are in the same group, its as if they put Rogue, Dark, Serral and Reynor in the same group. Its not about the numbers, its about the quality of each group.
Besides we've already put with 2 days of underwhelming upcomers and ''has beens'' fighting each other, kind of boring to have to endure a TvT fiesta before the main thing. 3 days of hype killing before the biggest SC2 tournament.
