Rogue might take a map or two but I think Darks early and midgame will crush him. If it gets to the viper stage Rogue might have a shot though
|
Expecting a 4-2 for Dark. Will be exciting to see who is better at ZvZ.
|
How good is Rogue at holding off all the nydus all-ins Dark can think of?
|
i'm at home with a rather bad cold, doing homeoffice. which also means watching GSL Semis on the telly in the background.
i got Rogue 4-3.
|
part of me wants this to be a good series another part hopes rogue plays just as badly as he did last round

swarm hosts vs double melee upgrade. typical preparation tournament kinda builds
|
well it's not a boring start
|
|
|
well that was....interesting
|
Game 1 is over and we're still on page 1?
Yeesh, talk about the ZvZ effect.
|
That was a hilarious game.
Dark's Nydus shenanigans 1 - Rogue's "standard" play 0
|
"Korean's don't know how to play ZvZ"
Yeah right
|
cool strat. However, if Rogue send the lings to the spore-nydus in thee lower left side at first. It would not have work.

IIRC it's something to do about being impolite or something to be caught smiling with your teeth on camera. Something indecent about it or something.

I'm HOPING we see something resembling "standard" at some point, although I doubt it

Of course it is, I more meant the decision to use the build not the build itself.
Every Terran knows how to proxy 2 rax, few are brave enough to use it as consistently as Maru does with stakes that high.
And we all know sOs isn't afraid to get weird, he thrives on it.
If Rogue is embracing his inner cheeser, I think practicing constantly with other cheesers probably encourages it.

Dark himself did it in his previous ZvZ series.

Lol, Dark is doing the qlash/Leenock pool
|
Now THIS is a Rogue tm build. He loves to cancel/not get speed and go lair first 2b roach.
Not sure what his plan is on a map this big.

Awful defence by Rogue and bad macro by Dark :o

People wouldn't be that disappointed; love for the Terran race would counterbalance distaste for foreigners.

Mandatory military service denying him a visa.
It's not been confirmed yet that he won't be there, but most likelly, Korea dosen't screw around with their military service.

Byun I was wondering if he won Blizzcon or if that was a Code S. I couldn't remember exactly. Thanks. So Byun won the first LoTV then. He won both code S and BlizzCon. Monster year for him.
Yea I that year was a blur too since I wasn't following SC2 as closely that year I remember.

Does it mean Rogue no longer hold the patchzerg weekender champion title anymore or whatever they called him before?

I don’t know why I liquidbetted Dark. Rogue is in blizzcon mode and Dark couldn’t beat Elazer. Damn it
It’ll be difficult for Maru but he has a legit shot at a fifth GSL

Byun didn't win blizzcon reapers did

Some TL writer was calling him that, then he won Katowice.

I guess he will make history as the first one to achieve quadruple crowns of GSL Code S, Katowice, Blizzcons & GSL Super Tourney II altogether. (maybe if we didn't add the GSL vs World accomplishment because he got down-voted & failed to make into the final cut though)

I mean, he hasn't lost from this point in a while... But he used to *always* lose when he got to this point in the tournament. Depends which Maru shows up, really.

Some of those zvzs were really cool, and rogue did look good, but I couldn't imagine either of them possibly beating Serral in an extended series with this level play.

I can already see Rogue beating Maru with some complete bullshit builds in the finals.
Remember at Katowice when Maru went up 2-0 and Rogue said he didn't think there was any way he could win so he went for meme builds just to entertain the fans? And then he won 3-2.

But this is GSL not weekender, so technically Maru should play better. OTOH he has to defeat Trap and, well, let's face it, currently the last 2 series are for JAGW to plan them out the way *they* like it

that series... The infamous 3rd game, with Maru up 2-oh and a Roach all in from Rogue at game 3 or game 5 don't even remember.. and Maru basically gg-s with a high ground tank and Rogue has no vision? What an epic weekender throw by Maru was that series OMG.. actually Maru needs to beat Trap first. I think it is going to be a Trap win anyway... Maru sometimes loses to teammates, and Trap does not want to play lategame against Maru with the upgraded Ghost EMP. Stats can confirm that.

Only to have not walled off his natural properly and lings get in and throw in down anyway.
Unkillable nydus was bullshit, but all Maru needed was a fucking tight wall

Is there a reason why the UI doesn't show in the killed units banelings used offesnively? I mean - they died, so they should be listed, or not?

I dunno the causation, but there's correlation. Rogue definitely started doing weird things from 2015, after sOs and maru were having a blast doing weird things in proleague 2014. Also, may I mention True also getting really far in gsl and doing well proleague in 2014 for being weird too.
